Am i the only one that hates these ejections for targeting? The game is so fast. It changes everything when these guys get ejected. I have no problem with a big yardage penalty. But this is crazy. Same shit happened in penn state game yesterday. I get player safety. Just think ejection after first offense in game is too much.

They need to change the QB slide rule..to have to slide 2 yard prior unless you are not protected like the NFL...You can't slide right in front of the defender...Another Stoopid rule

Lower the shoulder and the head goes with it. The rule needs to be applied only to most egregious hits of a vulnerable player….period. Baby angles change in a split second..from the carrier and the tackler. The point of impact changes with it. Everyone gets the safety aspect, including the friggin players. They don’t want to get hurt and don’t need big brother ref legislating their form tackles. I’m a 61 year old school dude who appreciates the intent of the rule, however, the enforcement has gone too fucking far. The refs are ruing the game

I have no problem with the targeting penalties and the ejections. Football has evolved since its origins and become more humane based on science and pragmatism. With no penalty and in severe cases no ejections, then you would have no enforcement and this no compliance. You can still have a hard nosed quasi combat game and still protect the players. And remember, it’s just a game…

They need just change the rule to just LAUNCHING leaving his feet and using his crown of helmet...When the offensive player lowers his head last second of course u are going to get helmet to helmet....
Also WTF is that rule that if you helmet comes off you need to leave the field..dumbest rule of them all

Its not even the refs. They just call the rule. Its these review refs or whatever they are. Last time i checked my head was attached to my shoulders. My wife probably disagrees. Its so hard to keep that head up all the time at that speed. With so many moving parts. Its inevitable things will look bad

The issue with targeting is that it is called completely different in every game depending on the refs. Some games they legit just don’t call it - usually SEC. clearly not tonight.

I agree. The launching is bad. Just like hockey. But its still a fine line too when a saftey coming across cant make the pick and has to lay the receiver out and he is in full stride. It always looks bad. But the angles are everything Dont get me started on defenseless receiver stuff. Im too old school. Glad i have some people that feel the same way about targeting

And long horn. Youre 100% right. They need some policing. It is just a game. But when you are in the middle of this emotional violent game it doesnt feel like just a game.
