Still waiting on 1 more line to be released.....

Since a few last week liked to talk about openers.....I took decent notes this time around.  


Two openers that got away from me:

Ball State +18 & then again +17.... went very quickly to +16.

Ohio State -8.5 & then again -9.5 .... went very quickly to -12.5.

Who do you like in the Duke-Baylor game? I had Duke favored by a field goal and now the line is favoring Baylor. Personally I think they are going to win by a touchdown + more. Duke has it together defensively. What is your opinions on this game?

No play here.  Raw #s -- I have Duke -2.2, but QB Daniel Jones left last game and I don't know enough about his status either way.

You were right about the Duke qb, he is being replaced by Quentin Harris, their junior backup. Tevaka Tuioti is also out for New Mexico...Are you still confident in the NM play?

Jones is out until at least the UVa game. Devils best corner, Gilbert, was slated for surgery this morning on dislocated hip.  I still think Duke wins, but those are real losses.

I love Oklahoma this week ...Where do the Cyclones get the offense from ??? Awesome grab at -13 ...That would likely be a Mortgage wager at that line for me. ..

Take a look at my U AT BUFFALO BULLS minus anything under a TD ...Should be a packed house next week for the BLACK OUT  ( 14,000)?

Yes, that QB situation doesn't bother me as much.  It may lead UNM to run the ball more than if Tuioti were in the game, but that is not necessarily a bad thing.  Still like New Mexico at -7 or better.  More of a fade on NMSU than anything.  I think NMSU is worn out from their early season schedule.

Overall I was pretty conservative in the amounts this week for openers.  When I looked at the week 3 card last week, not much stood out to me at first.  Now, in hindsight, I wish I had more $ on the Oklahoma play and some others compared to this one. Don't get me wrong, still like UNM, just sometimes the amounts I question myself.  Rivalry game here for NMSU, might be a good time for them to somehow regroup and play better.  That would be my biggest concern is that NMSU shows up and plays their best game of the year to-date.

..... hey, M.R. - off topic, but nice start to the season for the Maine Black Bears football team.  Now, I'm probably the only swinging d!ck in here that noticed, but WTF is up with that schedule?  4 home games and 7 roads AND if I take off the first game and the last game, the middle 9 games have 7 road games!  I don't think I've ever seen that at any level of CFB.  Did I read that wrong!?  I hope so for their sake.  Looks like a solid CAA team this year, but that schedule will wear them down as the season goes on.

Yeah, DU4L I agree.  Seeks like every week I look over my card and feel like the $ amounts / "confidence level" of some plays should be shuffled a bit.

Obviously we all knew Kempt is out this week vs. OU.  I really respect what Matt Campbell has done at ISU thus far and I thought Zeb Noland was ok late last year vs. Oklahoma State and Baylor.  And with the Rodney Anderson injury as well.  All of those original reasons led me to "only" put 1u on it.  Coulda, shoulda put some more on it at the opening number.  

And I'll be on Buffalo at some point this season.  May not be this week though.  Probably staying away from EMU or Buffalo.

Couple I really like right now TD seeing what your thoughts were.  I've been riding the Mizzu train last 2 weeks and don't see any reason to stop now.  Purdue really struggling.  I think Mizzu has UGA on deck, and can see the possibility of a look ahead but I feel Mizzu could practice all this week for UGA and still beat Purdue by 3 td's. 

 

LSU catching 10? seems like a fg game to me.  Looking forward to your insight my man.  Took you up on some FCS last week.  "This guy really knows his stuff" guy showed up, good work man. Thanks brother.

You are not the first to make this mistake/assumption, but my handle has absolutely nothing to do with the state of Maine - which, ironically, is the only state east of the Mississippi in which I've never set foot.  Maine Road was the old home of Manchester City Football Club.  That's the picture in my avatar.  However, because I do closely follow another CAA team, I had literally just been speaking with someone about some of the oddness in the early CAA results, with the Black Bears and Rhody, which was picked last, and which nearly dropped out of the competitive part of 1-AA a few years back, off to a great start, and teams like New Hampshire, Albany and Delaware looking like busts.  I always thought Maine should play all of its home games before November, and this year it does play all but one before serious ice fishing season arrives.  If I have a pet CAA team other than my own, it would be Maine.  Maybe I'll actually get there some day.

And UNIMAN claims not to be associated with Northern Iowa either.  I accused him of that once.

Agree that Maine and Rhode Island are certainly impressive so far in the CAA.    I haven't complete given up on Delaware yet, but after they play NDSU non-league I might soon after.

UGA, I think it's Missouri or no play in that game.  I was hoping to take Missouri, but the opening line wasn't where I wanted it.  May still add it sometime this week.

As for LSU/Auburn, revenge game at Auburn I was initially thinking Auburn after reading blowoutgm's thoughts on this game.   But -10 is too rich for my blood.  Blowoutgm liked Auburn at the right price, Nostradamus is on LSU +10, and BA thinks stay away.  Those three are definitely more experts on the SEC than me.  The SEC is just not in my wheelhouse compared to many others.  I am staying away from a side play.  I will be interested to see an opening Total tomorrow, however.

FCS -- debating if I should hold off on low limit openers and wait until Saturday morning for my other shop with better limits.  We'll see.  Either way, I'll have a few plays by Saturday morning at the latest.

No excuse for Delaware to be where it is, but it is.  I know a few people going to Fargo, and I'm really thrilled that I'm not one of them. Bison roll into Newark next year, but the Hens will be young, after graduating a huge, and disappointing, senior class this year.  Should be embarrasing; but when you've already lost to Sacred Heart and Jacksonville at home, I'm not really sure you can be further embarrassed.  

I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say that Auburn will beat LSU by 105.
