After digging into this game Tenn looks ready to take the next big step forward.
The past several years Tennessee comes out of the gates hot, winning comfortably. Then they get into conference play and get pushed around by the big brothers in conference. When the RPO gets shut down they never had the trenches to counter punch the big brothers. This team is put together with one thing in mind and that is to punch back! The Offensive line and tight ends look more than capable of playing smash mouth. More importantly the defensive line is strong and DEEP and can play shut down football like the big brothers in the SEC. Oklahoma is a younger step child, they are not a big brother.
Good Luck

People need to watch some tape of the NCST game that was won 51-10.
I had an UNDER ticket getting ready to cash after the first half. Then I watched the 2nd half and it was almost like, the players were challenged to score over 50 on a bet or by their coach and when they got to 51 by the start of the 4th Q, the shut the engines down and just played prevent defense and vanilla offense. If they wanted that night, the score could have been 65-10
I think the game will be close toward the end of the 1st half, Vols will assert their power grind and athleticism and it will lead to a huge 2nd half again. I did a comparison of stats of Offense vs Defense ranks so far and its glaring how the Vols standout on both offense and defense. I cannot say the same with the Sooners.
GL with your bet. I did not pick a side but I am going to play ingame and have Tenn keyed on a bunch of teasers
Proving is hard. Talk is easy.

BIG12 mainstay, now a SEC wannabe ...but give them props for their pushing the recruiting and program to big heights. Venables will need one more year, maybe two to be at Texas level and a great OC is the last piece of the puzzle

I agree that Venables is on to something but it should take some time to build it. Heupel has been building an SEC fighter for 4 years and would love to show it off vs his former team that fired him. I look forward to this one.
