What a moron.  Going to a BCS game and losing by a billion is better than losing a championship and winning a "lesser" bowl game.  And it's not close.  

Which would you prefer?

We lost to Bowling Green and didn't even win our conference championship.

or

We won our conference championship, went to a BCS game, and lost to Stanford?

I don't understand how someone can be so stupid.

Now, will they win and cover is another story. But, NIU backers will get a full effort, no doubt about it

You are certainly not a competitor.  I love and most of us who have played any sports love the competition.  Winning is only nice when your one of the best.  Beating bad teams is enjoyable but so sense of accomplishment comes with it.

Parlay to the Warriors and ML to ML parlay for $20 to win $110 ( I do very few parlays)
Line has dropped to 3 again ( I got 4 earlier today) and 80% of Covers is on the Huskies.

Hmmmm, could be some late sharp money on BG?

NIU doesn't benefit one iota from losing tonite, quite the opposite in fact. A loss on BCS game tops winning a crappy non BCS bowl for a team like NIU.

I played very small college NAIA ball. Every year we would play one SWC team, it was our big trip and we were proverbial sheeps to the slaughter.
The trips were fun but the games were not, we would lose by 40-70 points and it was usually a dunkathon on us. I could have done without it yes.
You guys need to  learn a little about psychology and sports psychology. This is not a conscious thought they have, they are not going to be saying, yeah, let us go lose. But there primal side of self-preservation will kick in. Who the hell wants to get hit by an NFL prospect who outweighs you by 30 pounds and runs a 4.4 40.
Teams in this spot lose all the time. How many teams in BBall go to number 1, only to lose the next week. Few are TRUE  champions. To me, this Huskie team is only pretending. I like the late line movement and am convicted in my play.

I respectfully disagree. FSU beat them by a bunch last year and outgained them 2 or 3-1. Why would you want to do that again, you know when you are going to lose. There is no doubt about it.

BINGO! RayRay, I couldn't agree more...anybody that has a competitive bone in their body wants to WIN all the time. The concept that they would prefer to lose a game so that they could play in an easier game in which they would then try to win is absolutely ludicrous.

Furthermore, they BELIEVE in themselves and they believe they can compete at the highest levels. (maybe they can, maybe they can't but they damn sure believe they can!)
