Nice record - great write up. Some of the facts you provided had me leaning to the wreck. But its the speculation swayed me back to Iowa.

With many weeks to prepare, any option can be stopped easily with disciplined assignment defense.

i'd rather prepare for an option than a scrambling/rushing quarterback that ad libs. Reason being - tech is very one dimensional

The teams mentioned who had success rushing against Iowa did so with the threat of passing on any down - the hawkeyes should dare GT to pass .

Nothing the Hawkeye coaches havent thought of so if the wreck rambles ... your specuations were all correct. Unless the hawkeyes were all busy listening to their fat little girlfriends.

I agree with  pretty  much  everything you wrote in your breakdown,  I'll  probably  play  GaTech as  well but I  just  remember FlaState put  up  539 yrds against Tech  and  they sure  let  Clemson  back in the  game.

Paul  Johnson is a  genius  and  he  might come  out  with  some  shock and  awe to unsettle Iowa, but I  think Iowa settles  in to  the  option  and I'll  give Tech the acknowledgement,. They can  certainly  pass when they want  to.  They may  even  come  out  passing every down. 

The  line is  at  5.5 (not a lot of  difference betweeen 4.5 , 5 or  5.5)

This is a VERY misleading post.  First off, didn't Iowa take Ohio St into overtime AT Ohio St with their backup QB ???  Even with 3 turnovers to Ohio St's none ???

OSU's feature back Herron carried 32 times for 97 yards- barely 3 yards per carry.  Saine broke off  50 yard and 22 yard runs which made the overall average go up.

Wisconsin's a decent running team no ?  Iowa held them to 33 carries for 87 yards (2.6 avg)  AT Wisconsin.

Penn St ?  Iowa held them to 33-109 (3.3)  AT Penn St.

Michigan was 3 months ago.  Minor had 22-95 but Mich only had 124 yards passing.  Minor was on a pretty good roll at the time.

Arizona was 3.5 months ago.  Iowa dominated the game (27-10 if you take away the pick 6).  Zona hit them with a couple draws for nice gains.

Iowa St ?  Seriously ?  Didn't Iowa win 35-3 ???  Iowa St had 7 first half drives- I think one of them resulted in more than ONE first down.

why has the line continued to go up even though there is lopsided action on iowa???? same thing happened last night....lopsided action on tcu spreadline, yet the line kept coming down. also, heavy action on the over (even with a very low total) and we have a flag-fest and they don't even sniff the over. tonight, lopsided action on the under yet the total is going up.

gentlemen, the line tells you all you need to know in this one....the play is GATECH and the OVER

pretty sure the only way GT wins is if it is very high scoring...

over looks like the best play... both teams will score points... if GT doesn't score at least 28, they are unlikely to cover...

You can prepare all you want for GA Tech's option. Everybody has a scout team.

But don't kid yourself people, it is impossible for Iowa to get a "real look" at this offense. And this, I assure you, is what concerns Kirk Ferentz the most heading into tonight.

You can't imitate the mastry of option football. Not with athletes like GA Tech has. You can write all the X and O's on the chalkboard you need, still don't mean shit until the defense has seen it firsthand and at full speed. The only thing Iowa defense has seen is their redshirts running plays on A notecard.
