What positives are there for Colorado? Lol they are 1-8 straight up, getting blown out in their last 6 games and failing to cover the spread. Injuries, dismissals and problems in the locker room. Also the colorado head coach is going to "try" a new offensive scheme today. The team is a mess.

I am a Colorado season ticket holder and it's hard to find any positives here with this team. However this week I will be on Colorado for the first time this season. They are getting there biggest playmakers both back Paul Richardson and Rodney Stewart. Also this game is CU's bowl game and there will be blackout at Folsom Field. From my many years of watching CU they pick it up for prime time games. I agree the team is a mess I just find some value in 21.5 pts, I don't see Colorado winning but should be better then people think. Good Luck to all.

Andarmac, I completely agree with everything you've said about these three games.  Let's hope they hit.

If Shark likes a favorite, rest assured your dog will cover.

It's one thing I have noticed recently. The more cOnfident he is, the worse off it is. Most recent example is Toledo - NiU didn't belong on the same field, yet covered the spread by damn near 2 TDs.

I wouldn't waste your time arguing these situational spots with people.  Either they understand them, or they don't.  It's like the people that were all on Wisky at MSU, just because a team looks like a world-beater, doesn't mean they're not susceptible situational disadvantages.  I tried telling people last week MSU would have a letdown at Nebraska and there were still people saying, "Oh no, Nebraska sucks, MSU just beat Wisky, blah, blah, blah...."  I'd much rather ride the situational advantages out, they're gonna come through more often than not.

You're right it just isn't worth the time arguing about it. Most of the people that disagree can't seem to get by the fact that I like to bet on shitty teams. Most of the time I use them to fade the favorites in bad spots but occasionally (like Colorado) I find what I believe are "play on" spots on the crappy team.

I should add that Colorado and OSU are clearly situational plays.

Alabama is a little bit different. Although I do believe they are in the better spot I simply believe that they are a lot better than LSU and in terms of this game LSU is being highly overrated.

Stats lie and mean nothing in CFB but I just want to point one thing. I keep hearing how these defenses are 1-2 and both are great. Well.....sorta. The rankings may say they are 1-2 but there is a huge gap in the actual numbers. Alabama is giving up 70 yards and 5 points per game less than LSU. Keeping those numbers in mind let's look at the rest of College football. If for example we take the #25 spot in the yardage rankings and say that is Alabama and we add the 70 yards worse per game that LSU is we see the Tigers would be ranked 74th. The same thing with points. If we use the #25 spot as Alabama and add 5 points to get to LSU we see LSU would be ranked #54. Sounds confusing but my point is 70 yards and 5 points in the defensive rankings are usually worth 25-50 spots. But that isn't the case here because LSU has a great defense but Alabama's defense has played at a level that is way above what the stats show. They can't be ranked any better than #1 even though they have been much better than LSU.

I must confess that I too think you're staring at .500 with the Colorado and Oregon State bets - just gotten to the point where I can't invest on a play solely in hopes of one side coming out flat.  With the talent discrepancy and it not necessarily being prime spots for Oregon State or Colorado (just awful spots for Stanford and USC), it's just not enough for me to invest on the dogs and expect to come out 2-0.  Hope I'm wrong as there's nothing I like more than seeing a situation play out just like some of us think it could, I've just given up on trying to peg when a top 20 FBS team will play like absolute dogshit against bottom 20 FBS team.

I'm either going to be really right about this game or really wrong. If USC comes out flat and Colorado comes to play we will see it in the first quarter. I think that scenario happens enough to warrant firing some first quarter plays.

2009 game is not on his mind, I assure you that....I stick with the facts, it is near impossible for a team to play balls out and dominate every single week like Stanford has. There are such things as sandwich games, and this is one of them. They just played and 3x OT game and then play the Ducks next week. They will be sleepwalking.
