Can't blame him if UNLV only gives him 12K of the 100K they offered. He can still use his redshirt if he doesn't play another game this year. What would happen after three weeks your employer only gave you 12% of what they said you would make? Wake the fuk up and think for a minute. What scares me is that you're the low information type that also votes in November!

Employers usually make sure things are in writing....
You dont start working at an establishment without a contract signed.
Verbal agreements mean nothing if we are being honest. If no contract/agreement was signed that is strictly on Sluka and his family guiding him in those decisions.
(Doesnt mean I think its right, but in this day and age, everything needs to be in writing and looked over by a lawyer/agent when it comes to that amount of money)

Maybe they are, maybe they aren't, but I will say this is their best team since the Chris Peterson-Kellen Moore days. But if you think they suck you probably oughta drop a dime on Wazzu this weekend.

UNLV collective just issued a statement. There was no contract. Kid and his agent tried to leverage the team's success to their advantage. Didn't work. Vegas pays what they owe, but they don't play these games. Wrong town, wrong business people to mess with. You think you can play with the Fertitta family? Get real
Let's go Darwin

Rob Sine, the CEO of Blueprint Sports, which operates UNLV's collective, told CBS Sports it had not agreed to a $100,000 figure with Sluka.
"We were introduced to the agent less than a month ago for the first time and the agent said he wanted to explore opportunities for his client," Sine said. "We informed that he was not registered with the state or with the school and that he needed to be so the athlete needed to talk to the coaches directly. There was a discussion via email about 3,000 a month of a recurring payment and then the agent said no we're still discussing, we'll let you know how things progress, don't onboard my athlete onto your program yet. And that was it. All of this happens in the span of less than a couple weeks. We never agreed to $100,000, it was never brought to us that was what the number needed to be. I'm learning about a lot of this like you guys are.
The collective is in great shape and has made every payment that it's needed to make and stood up to every obligation we've been contracted to do," Sine said. "Everything we do is contracted, we don't do anything verbally. We have documentation on every deal we do. There was nothing for this guy. He received $3,000 from us this summer and that was it. We took care of that."
OK, I jumped too soon. Maybe shame on Sluka. Gotta watch it play out.

Do not see anything there, maybe because I'm not an X member.

"All financial commitments for UNLV QB Matthew Sluka were completely met. But after wins against KU and Houston, Sluka’s family hired an agent and they collectively feel that his market value has increased, per source."
Yeah sounds to me like this kid suddenly hired an agent, who isnt even licensed in the state, to ask for $ after the 3rd win. A promised was made by an assistant coach, but no contract signed and no one from the NIL UNLV collective agreed to anything beyond the 3k for the summer appearance

What scares me is that you’re the low information type to talk about working for an employer without signing a contract and wonder why you’re not getting paid. Maybe read articles or updates before commenting, and do research. Hopefully you don’t vote blindly in November without knowing the facts about each party.
Play the game. Don’t let the game play you.

Yes because this is how you kill your reputation #1 and 2 he was getting paid his parents hired an agent and they tried to squeeze more $$ with blackmail. Let him go to the MAC. No big schools will offer this type of guy
The inches we need are all around us , the 6 inches in front your face

The thing with Sluka..... As a teammate I would be completely out on him.
How many kids on that team are actually getting paid, and he is bitching and moaning when he has under performed. They have skill position guys who make that offense go if we are being honest.
Good luck wherever he goes, but teammates will be wary.

UNLV quarterback Matthew Sluka was verbally promised a minimum of $100,000 during his recruitment but only saw a $3,000 relocation fee, his agent Marcus Cromartie of Equity Sports told On3.
On Tuesday night, the former Holy Cross transfer quarterback announced he was stepping away from the program and redshirting because representations “were not upheld” after he enrolled. Sluka has been represented by Equity since January. Sluka announced he would attend UNLV on Jan. 16 but did not enroll until the summer.
So one news site says he has been represented by Marcus Cromartie since January and UNLV says he just recently showed up. Like I said we need to watch this unfold.
