Has any Bama fan EVER said their team was going to lose? I find it SO hard to believe there isn't F*cking 1 tide guy who thinks his team MIGHT lose this game.

Bracks, I'm just trying to get you fellas going!  But for real, Alabama will destroy Tech, Everyone is looking at what Alabama lost on the ol, qb, and rb, but they don't understand how long Alabama was on probation and the new recruits over the last two years are far superior than players we had.  JPW was a average at best QB, Glenn Coffee was a Good rb but Bama is loaded at that postion, the real lost is Smith and Cardwell on the ol but J. Carpenter and DJ Fluker will be just fine.

 

I do have respect though for Tech's defense and their special teams, but I really don't foresee them scoring on Bama's defense.  Many close to the team that I know personally say this is the best defense Bama has ever had.  If that's the case and Bama don't turn the ball over, it's going to be very tough for any team to make long drives on this defense.

 

The great thing is, the game will be played and we all will see what happens.  Hope all have a great season, and don't go big on any game, play smart and let's all make a little green.      

I didn't read this fuc....ing stuff before I posted, I did say last year Bama was going to lose to Flordia. But yeah, MARK MY F, ING  WORDS BAMA WILL KICK THE CRAP OUT OF TECH!

I hate all SEC fans. Especially the Bama fans who might be the most obnoxious of them all, and think they're hot shit because they finally have started to play good football coming out of the Shula years when they were terrible. Not to mention they are by far the most overrated team in college football this season. They're offense will not be good at all. VT's Defense will shut them down with IMO the best D-coordinator in football, Bud Foster. Bama will be lucky to score 17 points. VT still wins this game even with Evans out.

Guys, this one is a no brainer as everyone in the thread has already pointed out.  VT wins games with their superior defense and special teams- just ask Skip Holtz and East Carolina.

We all know VT and Bud Foster always have the best defenses on the field.  Bama got lucky that they led VT in every major defensive category last season - everyone knows VT rules on defense.

 

The loss of a 12 TD 1,200+ yard back won't hurt VT much; we've already established they are so good on ST's and D.  I'm sure Beamer wanted two true freshman to see plenty of the field at RB in game one against a defense that ranked 2nd nationally last season and didn't allow a 100 yard rusher.  Oglesby can fill in an pretend to be Evans for the game, no big deal other than he has the speed of a smaller DT.  It's okay though, Tyrod is the full time starter now and is bound to throw the ball better than the 111th ranking from last year.  VT's OL have been lights out anyway the past two years allowing just 96 sacks while never averaging over 3.8 ypc in a 3 year span.

 

It's "Beamer Ball" where Bottom 20% offenses are encouraged and nothing else matters because Foster's guys are sure to take 3 or 4 balls back to the house for INT's.  VT is easy money, just look at last year's numbers and read Phil Steele's stuff on the surface with bama returning 4 on offense.  Don't bother to really look at anything else other than who started how many games last year.  It doesn't matter when you have the second coming of Mike Vick under center with a couple frosh RB's and an OL from Gene Hackman's team in The Replacements.. VT to the bank!!!!!

 

 

 

 

So let me get this right? you guys think that if a Bama fan picks Bama to win that they are homers and are just being obnoxious. You guys need to put your big boy pants on and stop being so sensitive. I have posted in other Bama/VT threads why I think Bama wins. Its not because I am a fan, its because of thier team. I have read all of this garbage about Bama playing an inexperienced QB, and RB's, and that was what was mostly being the reasons you were putting money on VT. Well its your money, do what you want with it, I was just trying to let anyone know who maybe didnt follow bama closely last year that they will be better off this year. Mcelroy= big, athletic, strong (benches 375) smart, good arm, tight spiral, soft touch(look back to last years Iron Bowl). He is the son of a coach, whith 2 years on sideline to learn under Saban. He practices against Bamas Defense every day, so why should VT defense be scary, when Bama has the best defense that they have had maybe ever. look back to last year and see how many RB's toted the mail for Bama, losing Coffee will not be an issue. I stated in a different thread that Thier O line is the real point of concern, but that watching the Spring game, reading reports, listening to Saban, that thier replacements stepped up and are doing very well. Bamas Julio Jones is a beast, and mixed with an athletic and smart QB, along with a stable of good running backs means Bama will score alot of points again this year. I hate it that Evans is out for the year, but it really wont be a factor in the outcome of the game, because Tyrod was going to have to beat Bama with his arm anyway, Bama will shut down the run on most everyone. I dont want to disrespect anyone, like I said earlier, just being informative to anyone who dont follow Bama closely. I get alot of good information on here reading what people write on teams that I dont follow as closely as I should. I assumed we were all adults here, and were trying to help eachother make some money, so calling out people, by calling them Obnoxious, and homers really doesnt add anything useful to this board, it only shows that maybe you should do what I stated earlier, pull up your bigboy pants, and grow up. As I said, its seems that every tide fan on here, isn't thiking they lose for a second. Not only that, they are going to "Roll them". Maybe you guys really do just have total confidence in your team. You guys also think probably that they should be the #5 team in the nation.I think that s alil high w/ the ? on their offense, and maybe might be making up for LY snub and to make this game more high profile. Now, I know you guys play in the big bad SEC, but it seems like this teams defense is not even a ? Just cause you did it to Clemson, doesn't mean VT is the same outcome. Like I also said before,, I thank you guys for at least starting to talk about whne Bama has the ball instead of "Tyrod will be running for his life and they won't be able to run" .At last, yes, this kid might be good behind center, and yes he goes against great athletes everyday, but he has ZERO big game experience. I also hear all about the Texas rec he broke of Chse Daniels. Well, let me tell you that a named Ron Paulus once broke all the HS rec in Penn of guys who were a lil better, named Montana and Marino. He was suppose to win the Heisman at least once!!! However, Ron Paulus didn't turn out to be able to deal with the pressure of having to lead one of the best teams in the nation with all eyes on him. You never know until you put them in that situation.

 

Again also, I bet on a team to keep it close and that I think has a chance to win. I think the game might come down to who has the ball last. I unlike some fans of the other team, never said they were going to crush them, or they don't have a shot. And I might call the game exactly right, and bama could get a TD at the end and I would lose by 1 pt. Then, all the bama fans can make all the threads they want saying they are so much better. I will just take it like a man, cause I wear big boy pants, and have done this long enough to know, thats the way the ball bounces sometimes.

      Bama being ranked preseason #5 really doesnt mean much to me one way or the other. Bama played lights out last year, much better than anyone expected, and with the talent that Saban has accumulated, I can see peoples reasoning in giving them a fairly high ranking. One thing you did say is true without a doubt, and that is that the SEC is the biggest and baddest conference in football, so surely that wasnt sarcasm coming out of your mouth insinuating that there was a conference better. As far as Tyrod running for his life, thats probably a correct statement as well.

Just because the SEC is the best conference in football doesn't mean Va Tech should be automatically discounted in this game. People actually try to directly make that argument, and others just imply it. Either way its just a stupid argument
