Talk about 2 teams that went in polar opposite directions ...Every MAC forecaster in the galaxy had NORTHERN ILLINOIS in the basement of the west , while most oddsmakers had the UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO as the chalk to win the East...

UNIVERSITY AT BUFFALO. ..Lance Leipold leaving for KU crushed the BULLS , as he took lots of talent ,and others left for greener pastures as well.. Some local rumblings speak of massive infighting between the coaches and players , or just the players with one another. Even the parents on the FB page are arguing ( never seen that before).   After watching them give up 56 to lowly Bowling Green and 45 it appears they've quit ...The lone bright spot has been the pass rush that has recorded 33 sacks ( 5th in country , Best in MAC), but on film they're selling out to get the QB while the rbs run through gaping holes ( giving up 218.3 RY/5.3 YPC In MAC play ) ....Sure the BULLS could win the last 2 and become bowl eligible,  but do they really want to play smash mouth football tonight ?? 

NORTHERN ILLINOIS can book the trip to Detroit( MAC championship game) with a win tonight ...I've been blown away at the job head ball coach Hammock has done this season ..He flat out wins tight ball games 5-1 despite just being +2.4 points per mac contest ..Don't let those close wins fool you , the MAC West appears to be the most competitive division in the country..  Jay Ducker is rolling with 4 straight 100 yard games, and he should run wild tonight . ..QB Rocky Lombardi is tough as nails , I was shocked he played last week after nearly getting decapitated near the goal line vs Kent St ... 

NORTHERN ILLINOIS-1

While this is not a MORTGAGE wager ( 5U) , it is one of my most confident ATS plays of the season ..

PENDING FUTURES 

During the summer I thought oddsmakers were asleep at the wheel on the MAC futures ..What didn't they see in Kent St ?? Why did they think 2 schools that lost their head coaches would sit a top the EAST ?? After betting my first $100 at Seneca Niagara on Miami Ohio I thought the odds would drop from +3300 ( who the h e l l other than Thorpe and I are betting MAC futures there ?) ..When they stayed put at +3300 I laid another 160 , followed by another 160 ..In late August oddsmakers started to wake up on Kent St , as their win total jumped a full win from 5 to 6 ...Conference odds dropped from +1400 to +650 in some spots ...Now regardless of what happens Saturday between Kent St and Akron , the Golden Flashes and Redhawks will play next Saturday for a trip to Detroit ..

KENT ST to win

MIAMI OHIO

Any thoughts on why it the majority of people seem to be on NIU but the line dropped from 1.5 to 1?

I don't think oddamkers care much about these MAC games , they know must of us will just lose it back on other bets....

For the last 8 or 9 years I've been shocked at some of the bad numbers they put out on Mac futures and late season conference games ..

Sure UB could win tonight,  but even as a BULLS fan I'd want double digits ( 13+) .. Probably still would pass on them

NIU just seems to win these tough close games. I was impressed by their grittiness last week to pull off that win. Basically done it all year. You’re right with Buffalo. They are just lost right now. It doesn’t take much to send that team in the other direction in a hurry. Zero discipline. The line seems a little off but same could be said about Western Michigan yesterday. 

I’m already on NIU -2.5 opener, but just bumped it to 1.25u overall with NIU ML -110.  Line movement smells a little funny but not going to overthink it.  NIU not a must win is all I can think of, but I don’t think they want to potentially have a must win situation vs. a talented but no guts as of late WMU team.

I feel like if Buffalo actually comes out to play at home this is just about an even matchup … as much as I want to pound northern Illinois i can’t seem to pull the trigger

NIU sure does win the tight ones ..The defense is weak and keeps better mac teams in games with them ...

Yeah UB likely quit , they've look absolutely flat ...O Line has been getting the qbs walloped ...Vantrease holds that ball forever , no idea how he still is playing ...

Line movement reeks of Joe bettor only rembering what they saw in the mac 2-4 seasons ago...No one is going to these games in Buffalo right now...I had 8 free tickets to the OHIO and BG games and not one soul would take them.... 

WMU might be the most talented team in the MAC ,  abysmally underachieving this season ...I would have found a way to get Skyy Moore the ball 16+ times a game....Agree don't think NIU wants to take a chance with the Broncos next week when they can win it tonight ....

I think biggest thing for me is Buffalo just hasn’t beaten anybody all year. Akron, Ohio, Old Dominion and Wagner. Competitive at times but still lose. We basing these lines off talent? Only thing i can think of 

Anything is possible in football Brother ...The BULLS would need to do a complete 180 on the O line,  where all 5 guys have been replaced with turnstiles.. On defense they take horrible angles to the ball carrier and appear to have the tackling skills of Teddy Bridgewater ...

If UB wins I'll be pissed and out $770 , but I'd make this bet everyday of the week... expected this line to be NIU -6.5 and they still would have been at least a 1 unit wager ($200) ...

Even worse they almost choked away a 35-0 halftime lead to OLD D ...Backup qb rushed the field with helmet off,  that backed up the game tying extra point ( Missed ) ....

They needed OHIO to jump offsides for a game winning fg after missing it ...

Everything I read and hear locally is that the team has quit and almost at the point of mutiny ...I expect Coach MO to fire most of the staff  over  the next month ( scapegoating)

Lines makers just refuse to give NIU any resident this year. I’ve seen it before with teams in every sport. Like they got lucky, no way they can do it again. I’m interested to see what the line on this game was earlier in the year

MAC)  I'd give the officiating for conference games a B+ ...

Personally I like when they don't throw many flags and just let them play ..This season the .Refs seem to let us know in the 1st quarter if they're calling the soft offensive holdings and other tacky bs ...Been impressed for the most part other than some blown calls that are almost expected ..
