Better late than never.
Usually, it isn't too difficult to make a case for either side when capping a game, however, on paper, this particular game appears to be a little lopsided until you really look at the matchup in detail.
Looking at CMU this summer, it's been noted that their defense is actually a much improved unit from previous seasons. Last season, CMU ' S defensive unit lead the Mac in total yds/gm (355). CMU 's new 4-3-4 scheme will only benefit a very talented defensive line who happens to be the strength of CMU 's defense going up against a suspect Pokes OL who has a transfer from UAB playing LT and a former walk on playing Center. The Pokes have had 5 different offensive line changes through the offseason and I believe that will be very significant against a strong CMU defensive front. Admittedly, it will hurt if Serpa doesn't play against the Pokes as he is currently listed as questionable, however, one of the strengths in this Chippewa team is their experience and depth across the board. They return 7 starters on defense and 7 starters on offense. I expect QB Rush to move the ball as he always has and though Davis and Rawls have left, CMU still has an experienced Wr core in Kroll, Rice and Willis. They also have most of their offensive line returning with LT Ahmetti, C Bemis and RG Rogers anchoring the OL. I also believe it's significant to have 1st year head coach, Bonamego, on the sideline ad he is very experienced and he has a high football IQ. He was a staff member of the Lions offense and he comes to CMU with a clear understanding of how to use his personnel. Dan Enos didn't seem to have that understanding like Bonamego and other previous Chipps coaches who are still very successful. I expect Coach Bonamego to get the most out of his team in 2015 and though he's undermanned against a talented Pokes team, I don't expect Oklahoma State to come in to Mt Pleasant and hang 50. I think the Pokes will struggle on their offensive line and it will allow CMU to hang with them throughout the game. I see a 34-24 type of finish.

AMD - I agree - think C Michigan is the top play with Thursday's line up. Also like your Michigan pick.
Also - for you and/or anybody else - Western Michigan/Vanderbilt for whatever reason has been listed at different times. Their official kickoff is Thursday - Correct??? Have seen it also listed on Saturday.
Good Luck as always!!!

Wow! You may be right about CMU covering the spread, but I am baffled by your data on this game... what source are you using to track returning starters?

I believe it's actually 6 on each side of the ball. Hey, not too far off.
Yes, you're correct. I look into multiple sources including collegefootballpreseason.com, CMUs team website, Phil Steele, and many other sites and I was mistaken in thinking that one of CMUs offensive lineman was a returning starter along with a starting corner that has been replaced. While the number of returning starters are significant, it still hasn't changed my position on CMU as a play. What really hurts, however, is that Serpa has been listed as out.

in all seriousness how did you finish up last college season??i know you went real rough for a wee while, then pulled it rite back to be in the positive again....but after that hoops season(and a bit of nfl) started to take up all of my time and interest so i wasnt in the college section much.......i trust you finished strong.
