Week 1 observations and overreactions

It's about quality not quantity ... Teams that returned 17 starters or more went 4-5-1 ATS and teams that returned 9 or fewer starters went 9-4 ATS/SU.  UCLA had 19 returning starters for example and things went bad for Chip Kelly..

Louisville got an upgrade with Satterfield of course last year was horrible for Louisville with Petrino etc..  Louisville went 2-10 last season and  finished 1-11 ATS.     

No mention of Will Muschamp’s gross incompetence...Watch the 4th quarter of the game w North Carolina...My prediction, Muschamp will get fired at the end of the season after going 3 - 9...

I haven't the faintest idea who Hank Bachmeier and Sam Howell are, but I'm sure they're swell fellas. 

Announcing really has gotten awful (and I'm an easy grader).  I must have heard "I don't know if there's enough there to overturn the cal" ten times, where the replay MADE CLEAR that the call on the field was right. 

I feel as though 5Dimes should charge me a penalty for knowingly betting on a Will Mushchamp-coached team. 

Weber and SDSU played a 6-0 game that featured 13 three-and-outs.  Weber never moved the ball more than 25 yards on any drive. 

Do you know a boat from the Volunteer Navy caught fire and sank right next to Neyland Stadium after the game,  I'm not making that up.

Uniform Watch:  Good to see fewer and fewer teams embarrassing themselves with goofy alternate threads.  Of course, Oregon just can't help itself, and Memphis looked pretty silly in grey; but, aside from that, not a lot of garbage out there, at least not yet.

Was Willie Taggart ever a good coach?  I recall thinking so.  Is he just in over his head?  Odd.

i watched a bunch of the WVU JMU game in real time, as it was on here in Pittsburgh.  Neers don't seem to have playmakers; and, as I noted in another thread, I don't think this is as good a Dukes team as they have had recently. 

I was following the SDSU game on an Aztec fans' Twitter feed.  San Diegans are surprisingly and wonderfully bitter and angry group.  Good people.

I really have no room to talk, as I watched Pikeville/Murray State on my tablet the other day.  It's pretty rare that a school I've literally never heard of shows up, but Pikeville was new to me. 

I hate Heinz Field so much that I turned down two free tickets and a free pre-game party to watch it alone in my family room.  Pitt fans are generally kind of awful.  Yes, both of them.  Especially Jim.
