I am on several of those plays as well- I was leaning on USC so I may have to look at that one a bit closer- My sentiments exactly on LSU- my biggest question is if you are the AD for LSU do you fire Miles then go after a Patterson or Briles hoping they break away or do you somehow contact them before hand to get a feel for what they would do? If LSU fires Miles, and then Patterson or Briles turns down the job then what? (if they even go after one of those guys)-
LSU is a bad matchup for the Aggies but I hope that Texas A&M finds a way to win that one- if LSU loses this game then Miles is out- I am almost positive of that-
Texas/Texas Tech over may be a good one to bet on this week
Good luck this week- hopefully Baylor can sneak into the playoff somehow- I would love to see that offense matchup against a Bama or Clemson
I'm a huge USC fan and there two things that are a definite with Mora, he can't beat Stanford and he beats USC, Chosen Rosen is the real deal and will be able to create big plays vs the Trojan D (which is really subpar), could a really close game with either winning, I just decided to go with the points, one of those "I win either way" type of things since I prefer USC win you know?
I'm getting ready for the Les Miles presser coming on ESPN in 12 minutes, wondering what will be said, I feel bad for him, he is such a great guy but it is probably time for new blood in there, his offensive ways just won't cut it in 2015, you've got to produce points, he will be out of work for about a week though, many will line up for Les to lead their program
don't think Baylor can get in unless they win out and OU loses to Ok St, that would be only chance but still think that wouldn't be enough, the committee hates the Big12, I personally think its teams are every bit as good as the SEC this year, everyone talks about "no defense" but they prefer watching Florida or Vandy over teams that can put up points? what? mind boggling to me, I'm fairly certain TCU or Baylor could look ok defensively against the likes of Florida or Tennessee, just my opinion
have a great week bro

Think UVA can beat VT this weekend or at least stay within the number. VT played inspired ball against UNC, but if it wasn't for UNC fumbling the ball all over the place at the end VT would have lost by 2 TD's. UVA can put up some points just wander if the defense can make enough plays.
shockingly I lean to the HooS in this one at +4, they are almost playing football at times this year, Va Tech is not a good football team and that ugly offense isn't bothering me, I don't like betting UVA games but my lean is to the points, I have rarely ever liked them against Va Tech, probably a good sign that it is time for Beamer to step down, those programs shouldn't be close to one another and they are all of a sudden

LSU could win by 50 this weekend and Les would still be gone. I, personally, would give him another year, but they aren't going to. They are just trying to work out the details - basically whether Les gets, or wants, a victory lap at home this week, or if they just put Ogeron in there now. I would be very surprised if they have someone else lined-up. The powers-that-be in Baton Rouge have been so focused on getting rid of Miles for the past five years, I think they've forgotten that they'll actually need a successor. I forget what the buy-out is, but I'll be it's 20X what it would have cost to keep John Chavis as DC last year ($250,000?). I wasn't the biggest Chavis fan, but the defense would have played better under him than it has without him. In my not-terribly-informed opinion, the dirty little secret in BR this year was that the QB was better than they thought he was. If they'd given him a little more freedom, and not let teams put 8, 9, 10, 16 men in the box, it might have been a (somewhat) different season.
you were right, he is seemingly OUT
15 million in cash if he chooses not to coach? wow, I'd take my money and walk into the sunset and stop living that stressful life, feel bad for Les, his players have always loved him
15 mill buyout, wooooooooooow

Yeah, unless you've got Art Briles stashed over in the Tiger enclosure that Mike VI lives in, this is quite a roll of the dice. I wonder if Avila hasn't been a little surprised by the groundswell of support for Les from the rank and file fans. I'll bet he thought this would be a popular decision, but it really only seems to be popular among the fat-cats over at the Tiger Athletic Foundation.

I freaking love UCLA and Troy this weekend. I've been impressed by how hard the Purdue kids fight, but they're just out-manned this weekend. 47-27? UNC's coaching keeps their point-spreads reasonable.
In order for UVa to win, it has to: 1) beat VPI, which is hasn't done since I was decent looking , and Bustin Piles was still posting here ; 2) beat Beamer in his last game ; 3) keep Tech from a bowl ; and 4) win Mike London's last game . The odds of them doing that are

I see it as risky if you don't land a big name coach that is proven, I don't think Jimbo is that great, I keep seeing his name attached to this job, I would much prefer Patterson or Briles, both would rally that fan base and create a monster, I see what Briles has done at Baylor with 2-3 starts, I can only imagine his schemes with LSU 5 stars, the SEC would be on "look the fuk out" alert , I doubt he ever leaves Baylor because they have built him everything he has asked for, I think Patterson would leave TCU if you broke the bank for him, he would also be a great hire, you get a defensive mind that fans prefer in SEC and he's willing to open up his offense
if you pay 15 million to get rid of Les and hire Jimbo then I'd grade that as a "D+", jimbo is a good but not elite coach in my opinion

yes & yes
Purdue does fight but they can't stop the tempo type of offense the Hoosiers run, I'm on it at less than a TD and excited about it
Fedora is like a bad dream, I'm thinking over in that game will be the best of all plays if the weather permits
& I feel you on the Va Tech thoughts but I'm not sure they didn't blow their emotional wad vs UNC, besides they could win 17-16 or 20-17, that offense they have is fkn bad and their QB play is dreadful, I know the situation favors them with all things considered but I can't even pretend I would lay 3.5-4.5 points with this year's Va Tech team, that's just me

I think the Wizards of Smart in Baton Rouge may be trying to figure out a way to un-fire a coach they basically fired. To his credit, Les Miles might be the only person on Earth who can let stuff like this roll off his back. My people still tell me they "think he's gone," but that's a long way from what they we telling me last night. To my eyes, firing him now gives you a very, very small potential upside with a whole lot of potential downside.

what you call a few big money donors wanting their voice heard only to realize they would be hammered on ESPN for a week, now they may want a "can I take that back please?"

With you on UCLA. It's probably my biggest play of the year.
that big huh? I mean I like them because Rosen is so good and the Trojan defense has really struggled this year, I'm hesitant to bet it more than standard though because USC is certainly capable of outscoring someone at home
best of luck

I met him once in New Orleans, and he was as good a guy in person as he was on here. I used to keep up with him a bit outside of this place, but I lost all of his contact information when my computer got fried. That's been a bunch of years now. Hope he's well.
