DB... i did the same thing last year... and most of the 17 previous years i have been betting college football... how did i come out ahead before this year?  you act as if it is impossible to win money by betting 8 or 9 favorites in a weekend... you realize about 20-25 favorites cover the spread every week, right?  come on, man...
 
early in the year i bet mostly favorites, and it will shift towards more dogs... but the fact is i learned long ago that there are huge mismatches early in the year in these non-conference games, where the spread can't account for the difference... that is the biggest edge you can find in this game... i know this from many years of past experience...
 
i don't know why my betting favorites affects you, but if you don't like the card, then bet against it...
 
last year in the first 3 weeks, i literally bet 3 underdogs, and i went 23-6 ATS in those weeks... so tell me how i did it then?  you are just being simple-minded...
 
i'm not blindly betting favorites... you find the games where there is a soft line... read my thread from last week... it explains how this all works statistically...

DB... if you had followed me last year, you would know there is an angle i have followed every year for the past 6 or 7 years... it has never failed to win money... you can check it out for yourself... and that angle (if you bet it and nothing else), would involve betting almost only favorites, by definition...
 
last year that angle was 70-33...
 
i have to assume that you (DB) are just another one of Dirty_Hitter's aliases... again, no ability to disguise yourself... but i don't really care... mostly talking to the other masses whose brains you are poisoning with your lack of knowledge...
 
if you figure out who the best 8 teams are (not the "top 8"... the best 8), and bet them every single week, over the past 6 years (and i'm sure beyond that) you would have won significant money every year...

i think everyone would agree on the top 6... and however you pick the next 2 out of 3, you still end up way ahead for the year... 78-37 for all 9... i didn't have Utah early on in my top 8, so that is why my top 8 went 70-32... but if i had Utah instead of Tx Tech, it would have been 72-31 for the year... that's 41 games over .500...
 
and that is the squarest lineup you can find... so what do you have to say to that?
 
and by the way, i can post similar lineups for the previous 5 years...
 
shut it about betting all favorites... the elite 8 teams from any year are blind bet on teams... and they are almost always favorites...

Ice, how often(if ever) do you buy points? I bought the Baylor line to 9.5, and for the money, think it has slightly better value given this years tendancy for backdoor covers. Don't recall seeing any points bought this year. Your card is solid this week. You may want to consider moving Fla to the main card, a buddy of mine said that Tenn's walk on(and only) Center had to be shot full of cortizone just to finish the game last week. Smell a storm brewing in the swamp. Different topic, but Ariz is first W to E 1:00 game this year @ Jax. Any play?

i buy points sometimes... when you've seen my juice at (-115) or (-120) that means i bought a hook... i have been lucky enough (or prudent enough) to get on lines that i liked, and try not to buy too often...
 
i actually just missed out on Baylor (-9.5) when i bet it... didn't know it had moved, and just decided to keep the ticket as is...
 
i wish i had made a full bet on Florida at that line... if it gets back down to 27.5 anywhere i will probably double it...

When was the last time Tennessee been in this situation? You're referring to the days and times when the Vols were one of the more talented teams in nation. Let alone the SEC. This squad is NOT the Tennessee of the past. They still have about a year or two until they are ready to make some big noise.

Florida on the other hand is just as deep, talented, and downright scary as those Steve Spurrier teams that ruled the SEC with a iron fist. And those teams OWNED the Vols for the most part.

Plus, Florida is a little angry and vengeful this weekend. I can only imagine the level of hostility that will be on display at the swamp this Saturday. This one gets ugly. In more ways than one.
