Week 3 Money {new thread}

Question

haven&#x27;t been around all week, not searching for old thread 6 pages deep and never had any plays posted anyhowthis is how I&#x27;m rolling in my comeback week1.Houston minus under a TD (a touch more juice)2.Houston game under 65 (would take any number 63.5 or more)home dog on Thursday Night is a great bet normally and see many on that, however, this Cincy team is no match for Houston on either side of the ball and Herman will run circles around Tommy Tuberville, Ward is healthy and Houston will chip away at this game winning by 17ish, 34-17, two different levels of football here IMO3. Baylor - 17.5 for opening half  not willing to back this knucklehead Grobe for a game spread so just testing the first half waters in this one, Rice is a special kind of bad and should be no match even for a Baylor team that looks below their average4. ECU &#x2B; 3 (posting current line)just a better team at this point in the season, Scaro can&#x27;t produce of points to be a chalk can they?  I say no so I&#x27;ll grab the points5. Wash St. - 14 for opening halfcan&#x27;t imagine the Wazzu practice sessions this week being fun and with the coach going off on his teams "manhood" I would think they come out firing against lonely Idaho, I&#x27;ll risk it6. Louisville &#x2B;105 for opening halfJimbo is scary with halftime adjustments and FSU may take a while to adjust to the speed of the Ville QB here, gut feel is the Cards lead by 10 or so at the half7. Duke &#x2B; 4 (current line)how bad is northwestern?  I guess we will find out, lesser of two evils in this one for me, points please8. Cal &#x2B; 8 (current line)both teams can score, Texas is even a little better and more physical, even so, I have to take the home town team at over a touchdown against a true freshman QB, close game that comes down to the wire9. Illinois &#x2B; 3can the row your boat kids beat two big10 teams in a few week span?  I&#x27;ll say no, this line is an overreaction to last week&#x27;s horrible performance from the Illini, Lovie rallies them this week, points please10. Utah St. - 6 for opening halfArk St looks to be one of the worst squads in the country after two weeks, the Ags play well at home, I think they lead at the break here by 10&#x2B; points11. Texas Tech - 10no defense no problem, Raiders score 60 and get over the hump for their backers, line movement is not sharp here, it&#x27;s very dumb IMObest of luck

LOL @ Rice is a special kind of bad!  Wahoo, you couldn&#x27;t be more "on point".  I live in Houston and have followed this team since the 80&#x27;s.  Baylor will own them, as you said, for at least the 1st half.  Then, coaching decisions happen......

I don&#x27;t like this year&#x27;s Baylor team much at all, leaned against them vs the number in both first two games but that is how bad I think Rice is this season, I watched a half of theirs and its scary bad, hopefully Baylor will care enough to perform decent, it&#x27;s a big number for a half but if they play their usual up tempo they should be up by 27&#x2B; I would thinkthanks for post

So  Wahoo what do you think about the Cal D?    I know your perceptions about the Texas D and Vance Bedford.    I can&#x27;t say I disagree with those perceptions.   However, I think the revenge angle, along with the fact that had it not been for a special teams mis-que, Texas would have won last years game in Austin, against a Cal team with Goff as its QB, the 1st player chosen in the NFL draft.    Texas ranking as #11 is a joke and undeserved so far.  But, if Texas can stay humble and hungry (and if Buchele can avoid injury) Texas should be able to handle Cal with a W and a cover.

I was on Baylor -17 in the first half against SMU.  Granted, SMU played inspired (over their heads), but SMU looked dis-interested in the first half.   Even though Grobe seems to have deferred the O to OC Briles son, the team does not have that Art Briles destroy and conquer mentality.    Granted, Rice sucks, bad.   And, Baylor did TCB in the 2nd half (though they did not cover).     Baylor&#x27;s D played well in the 2nd half.     So, Baylor will probably open a can of whoop behind in Houston in the 1st half this week, but I will sit this one out, until I can see a consistent killer mentality.   So far in Grobe&#x27;s tenure, Baylor is 0-2 ATS, despite playing terrible teams.   Wait and see for me...GL

I just can&#x27;t see Cal keeping up with Texas. Cal is not a hostile home environment for the young QB so I don&#x27;t worry about him getting rattled and I also think Texas runs the ball 48&#x2B; times for over 350 yards.59 carries for 207 vs ND47 carries for 171 vs UTEP *#1RB Foreman (24 carries - 131 yards and a TD vs ND) sat out vs UTEP as precaution. Will be back for Cal.*

lets be real here, Cal is soft, like super softtexas is the more physical and should be able to run the ball effectively, I&#x27;m just not a believer in their defense and think a true freshman laying over a TD in his first game away from home is risky, Cal historically plays well at homeI think Texas wins a nail biter but Cal keeps it within the number 38-35 or something like that, it&#x27;s more a hunch bet

at least you are willing to come in here and say it before the game starts, it&#x27;s the chumps who disagree after the game is over that bother meI can see why people like Cincy as a home dog, they think Ward is banged up and its a tough spot for Houston, I think I have the better defense, better offense and better coach and I&#x27;m laying less than a TD? don&#x27;t disagree with them running all day on Cal, just disagree with Cal not keeping up, that Texas defense isn&#x27;t very good IMO, I think for Texas to cover you&#x27;ll need 42 points or more because I think Cal reaches 30 somethingbest of luck TX

I did a write up on a couple other threads about this game. I very much like the QB for Cincinnati, there running game, and they have a set of linebackers with speed. It is my belief if the linebackers can limit the short and intermediate passing game of QB Ward, and prevent from rolling out like he likes today they stand a good chance to win this game. They put up almost 600 yards last year on Houston with Kiel at QB, and now with Kiel on the sidelines looking in Hayden Moore has won the job and I feel he is a much better QB who can pass and run. The thing that concerns me and it is big, is the Bearcats have not had any type of pass rush so far this year from there defensive line. To win this game tonight they are going to have to find one to pressue Ward and contain with along with the linebackers or this game is going to be over in a hurry.
That is basically my breakdown of the game.

The whole idea of lonely Idaho makes me sad.

It's an 11:00 am kick out there in the Palouse. Those schools are only a few miles apart. Indeed, Idaho used to play home games at WSU after someone burned their stadium down. I think Wazzou had its stadium burned down too. They had to play in Spokane for a while. I hope all of this information comes in handy someday.

I like that breakdownwhere I disagree is using anything from last year, this Houston defense is a whole different animal, I&#x27;m going to assume that Cincy isn&#x27;t as explosive on offense as OU, simply don&#x27;t have the same caliber of playmakers, I do think they are a solid team though, just not on the same level as this year&#x27;s Houston teamanything is possible on the road though and Cincy winning this game wouldn&#x27;t be the craziest thing I&#x27;ve seenI just feel like you have to play Houston at 7 or below, I could very well be wrong as I have been much of the time this seasonat some point I&#x27;ll rebound and win a bunch of games, I hope that starts tonight, fingers crossed

With you on Lville and ECU.

Against you on HOU and Cal. Think Cincy is more live than people think and record crowd doesnt help trying to win by ten + on the road. And on TEX I agree with longhornhoosier. Cal is a very average team this year and Texas should really have there way with them even at home.
