Hey kammer.... Wisconsin still hasn't played anyone
Thursday night game was fun except for the ear raping we got from the ESPN announce booth. Matt Hasselbeck and (especially) Pat MCafee make me wish for the days of Mr. "Third & California" Jesse Palmer and drunk David Pollack.
What couldn't ruin the broadcast was the beautiful coaching and execution from Tulane. They saw Houston was wearing down, did not stray from who they were and took it to them in a great comeback. Then at the end, the true beauty of the college game shown through when Willie Fritz instead of taking a knee and going to OT ran the fake play from kneel down formation with the handoff to give himself a chance to win the game, then of course they won on a fluky missed tackle play, but take nothing away from the calls. It was smart, aggressive and why this is light years better than the NFL (who at the same time was having a flag fest so bad that even Tom Brady was tweeting that he was turning the game off)
On Friday I started having Deondre Francois flashbacks as I saw Hank Bachmeier take way too many hits. Boise's OLine needs to help him out and the coaches need to call more runs. He's too good to be a punching bag for giant DLineman. The Broncos also continued their 2nd half dominance, even though they allowed a few points. They are reminiscent of last years Fresno team who became auto-bets in 3Q and 2H.
USC was down to their 3rd string QB and somehow stepped up and beat a good Utah team on a short week. Can some USC fan tell me if Helton is a good recruiter and a just a bad coach? Are these his guys filling in? Game was also marred by 27 accepted penalties for 237 yards
Saturday morning then came, and like clockwork the Michigan Wolverines lost a fumble on their first offensive possession. 3rd time in 3 games for that to happen. The route was on after that. What the hell happened to these guys? Where is that defense? Constantly out of place and the offense was no better after a week off to work on things. Patterson benched then McCaffrey injured so Patterson came back in. What a mess. Badgers looked very good
LSU had their way with Vanderbilt but did give up some yards on the ground and were sloppy finishing both halves. Burrow was awesome again. This game though... I know there were over 100 points points but damn, it took 4 hours and 5 minutes. Reviews, injuries, and Derrick Mason calling timeouts in the last 5 minutes for what? It went so far over time that SEC network cut out the end so they could show the next game.
Michigan State and Northwestern happened. It seems like the Spartans play with 12 or 13 guys on defense because there is never any room for the opposing offense to do anything. Lewerke made his best plays when he was under heavy pressure, but if he had time he sucked.
Early O/U total for Michigan vs Michigan State: 2.5. Someone has to score, right?
Some shadiness in Oxford... how is a play where a WR catches a ball with his body in the end zone and ruled down inside the 1 yard line not reviewed? Well, the Pac12 crew working the game still hasn't offered an explanation. They have until tonight.

Washington bludgeoned BYU for the 2nd straight year. BYU is a weird team, crushed by Utah, beat USC... USC then beats Utah. WTF
App State won a thriller against UNC, Mack's boys had another 2nd half comeback come up just short. They are fun to watch at least
Auburn took their modified 1920's offense into Aggie Land and won despite 12 penalties, losing time of possession and only throwing for 106 yards. Jimbo's team is not what I thought they were
Was flipping around later in the afternoon games and saw Alex Freaking Hornibrook lobbing passes around for the Seminoles. Just seems like such a weird fit with him being there
Chuba Hubbard is the King of the Backdoor Cover as for the 2nd straight week he scored a late TD to get the Cowboys an ATS win. Chris Fowler called the Longhorns punt returner "idiotic" as he fumbled an attempted sliding fair catch with the game in hand in the final minutes. He must have been serious too, as he used a normal voice when saying it
F*ck you Georgia. You couldn't bury the Irish and now the narrative for the rest of the season will be "how can ND still make the Playoff?".... ahh, who am I kidding. They could 7-5 and ESPN would still have a chart showing their path in.
I went to bed at halftime of the UCLA/Washington game. The score was 35-17 for the Cougs. I thought in my head when I talked about this game today I was gonna say "UCLA broke their string of scoring 14 points in each game". Then I wake up to see not only a full blown basketball score, but that the Bruins actually won! Only in Pac12 After Dark can you throw for 570 yards, 9 TOUCHDOWNS and lose. There were 1377 total yards in this game. And it still came down to turnovers as the Cougars gift wrapped 6 of them to the Bruins. Wow
Nebraska held on to beat Illinois 42-38 despite having a 671-299 total yardage advantage and 37-22 time of possession! How does that happen?

With the UCF loss ND will be the outsider poster child for the CFP with their "we were so close". Don't forget they still have to play mighty Michigan!!
I watch most of my games on mute. Saves med costs.
