****Week 8 *****ESPN Gameday in Columbia, Missouri......OU -3 just doesnt sound right at all........

Question

For the first time in school history!!!I assume this will be a 6:30 or 7:30 kickoff for the "primetime" matchup. Oklahoma is the new #1 and Mizzou should be 16thish......Faurot Field isnt that intimidating, but its still a road game. OU has struggled in 4 of its games winning those 4 by an average of 5 ppg (includes their only road game). They have of course blown out FSU and Iowa St......Mizzou has finally come up with a defense. I was shocked at what they did to A&amp;M, especially on the road. OU will be far and away the toughest challenge yet for the Tigers. Their defense is pretty stout and Murray/Broyles and Landry are a pretty good combo. However, MU will have the best qb on the field saturday.....Pinkel never coaches well in the big games. He gets conservative and his play calling sucks. Stoops isnt much better, but hes been in a ton more....And this line.....opened -3.5 give or take, some places 4 and has moved down .....even though I see leterally everyone on the Sooners......hmmmmGonna have to go into the think tank on this one. My gut says OU wins by dd simply based off history. But I thought that last week too. If, and thats a big if, Mizzous defense is legit, which it may very well be, Mizzous got a chance. I was fully expecting a line of atleast 7.....Ghayes....any thoughts?picks tomorrow

I put zero stock in the A&amp;M win, the Aggies never even came out of the tunnel, they weren&#x27;t moving around or hustling and Mizzou just matched up well against them (glad we noticed that after we bet them )&#xD;&#xA;I&#x27;m taking OU and Nebraska this week and if Oklahoma State and Mizzou both stay undefeated then I&#x27;ll just have to pay to see it

I learned that when they were here playing OSU a couple weeks ago. &#xD;&#xA;OU has struggled a bit lately but they always beat Missouri. Gonna have to dig into this one.

two crucial angles in this game:1) the propensity of teams to luck their way into the #1 spot in the BCS rankings and then immediately lose... 2) the propensity of OU to beat the living crap out of Missouri year in and year out... OU would have covered this 3 pt spread in 9 of the last 10 meetings, and they have won each of the past 7 matchups by at least a TD... what to do with that info is the most crucial piece of the puzzle...

I agree Train,,seems a fishy line. I had guessed it would be OU -5 1/2 -6 1/2.  I was thinking anything under 5 1/2,Ou backers would be pounding OU,,anything above 7 would have MO backers pounding it.  One of my books has OU -3 right now,and the other doesnt have the lines up yet.  Yes,going to have to do some figuring on this one for a bit,but 1st tendency is to jump on OU -3

First off the only chance Missouri has is because OU for whatever reason plays like retards on the road. Second WTF are you talking about on Missou defense. What defense??????????? They have not played ANYONE I mean ANYONE in the TOP 80; how can you say they have a great defense; Texas A&M are a bunch of jokers; Missou barely outgained them and did Missou 2.2 average yard per run; that is 25 rushing attempts for 56 yards; This Missouri team may have no offense and no defense but they havent played anyone to even figure it out; I mean they should have lost to SDS AT HOME; SDS ran ALL OVER MISSOU for 250 yards and almost 8 yards PER RUSH. From a talent standpoint it;s not even close. Where the heck do you get that they are even average on defense. That SDS game totally jolts that theory. Also OU doesnt beat itself; Landry has thrown one int in his last close to 200 pass attempts and dont fumble the ball. So unless Missouri is playing possum for 6 games or something. Your best hope is for another jackass playing like OU seems to play on the road. OU could lose not sure how but it could happen. Its not a bad spot for OU they will be coming in with a TON OF CONFIDENCE.

GL either way this game should be pretty interesting its tough to figure out because Missouri is so unknown.

They are only giving up 11 ppg.....yes, against subpar teams.The linemakers know everything you do and then some, yet the line is only -3. Pretty weird for "the best team in the country" to be only -3 vs a team with no defense and running game.

He is actually a pretty mobile qb. But hes not gonna gash the ou defense on any keepers by any means. Was looking to bet OU at around 6. This 3 is has me thinking now. Wanted to jump on it early but now looks like i might think/look at this line for a bit. I just can&#x27;t see OU&#x27;s up tempo offense struggling with mizzou&#x27;s d. Game has shootout written all over it and mizzou can&#x27;t keep up in a shootout with OU. What you thinking this total is set at?  58ish?

Holy shit man. -3 seems way off. I need a day or two to run some numbers and see if Mizzou has any chance here but everything now points to NO.

I will say this is the most confident team I have seen in a while from MU and this is the most shaky ass #1 ranked OU teams that I have seen in a while as well.

I will check in with you throughout the week but I probably won't lock this in until Friday.

I agree the Tiger&#x27;s defense is surprisingly good.  But Gabbert is going to need a huge game because the Tigers certainly can&#x27;t run the ball.  Doesn&#x27;t Gabbert have a hip injury?

odd line for sure, that being said, I am on the Sooners -3 big time. I still think they are one of the top 3 teams in the country, and I don't believe in Mizzou...they have found a defense, and Gabbert is a stud, but OU has too many horses and I will take Stoops over Pinkel in any big game situation. I am also on Huskers - they play better away from Lincoln (go figure?) and when their backs are against a wall..they don't seem to handle success very well for some reason. So 2 road faves for me...I will have to pay to see them both go down I guess
