you guys do realize auburn averaged almost 8 yards a play vs the all mighty defense of LSU, do you not. To say, they haven't faced a defense like Alabamas is FALSE. I'm not saying I'm betting auburn here, but to say its a no-brainer I find hard to believe.
and we realize that LSU has one of the worst offenses in the country with Crowton running the show. Bama has a much more balanced offense and better defense to match up with Auburn and they are playing Auburn at home in the biggest atmosphere for an Iron Bowl since God knows when. LSU's offense in that Auburn game was putrid with the play calling and the QB switches, and they were still one play away from winning the entire game on the road.

That McGregor tie in is the fantasy of the bama fanbase hoping for a giant scandal that can take down Auburn University.
By the way, McGregor has ties to both Alabama and Auburn. You do know he founded victoryland with Bryant Jr right?
Question/Comment I haven't seen you post on is why was the FBI in tuscaloosa interviewing a coach on Saban's staff(Jody Wright) that was on the MSU staff last year. Some are speculating he is the source of all the news leaks.
Well, one thing for sure is that somebody leaked this. The questions are who and why? I don't know the answer to either, but Jody Wright is certainly plausible.
The McGregor connection is certainly speculative at this time. The fact that he was indicted pursuant to a FBI investigation, the fact that the FBI is now involved in the Newton case, and McGregor's close ties with Auburn has certainly raised some eyebrows.
I believe McGregor has hired an Alabama alum as his defense council. Pretty good move on his part IMO.

Go ahead and put your money on Bama. Can Bama score 50-60 points, don"t think so. They didN't kick Auburn last year, Ingram got 33 yards and they will not kick Auburn this year.
I tend to agree with you Warlord. I have been saying that Bama does not have the offensive firepower with McElroy behind center to win a shootout with Auburn. For Bama to have a legit shot to win this game, I believe they will have to hold Auburn to under 30 points. I think that is possible, but I'm not sure it would be something I would necessarily bet money on.

Question #5 If Cam is suspended will the rest of Auburn rise to the occasion or hang their head in defeat. Regardless of skill, 1 player does not make a team....anyone whoever played the game would be insulted otherwise.

I'm pretty sure that's not true... since it is his Dad.. I'm pretty sure the NCAA can rule Cam ineligible regardless if he knew what was going on or not...
You are essentially correct SNF. What most people don't understand is that the NCAA is a private organization, and membership in that organization is voluntary. As part of your voluntary membership, you agree to abide by their rules.
For those who are interested in a more detailed understanding of this, I would suggest reading the US Supreme Court case of Tarkanian v. NCAA. The NCAA does not have to prove anything at all. If they what to punish a member school based on rumor and innuendo, they are free to do so. That's not to say that's what they will do or intend to do in this case however.
When the improper benefits rule is broken, there is almost never a direct tie to a school. Schools don't directly break this rule. Nobody is that stupid. If the rule is broken, it is usually because school facilitated it through a 3rd party, or a 3rd party acting on their own volition.
The NCAA never tied USC directly to the improper benefits received by Bush and his family, but that did not stop them from bringing a harsh punishment upon that school. The Bush case was made almost entirely from the testimony of Lloyd Lake who is a convicted felon.
In the Newton case, we have no less than 7 people who have said Cecil Newton solicitated cash (not one like the Bush case). The NCAA has also said that the solicitation of improper benefits is a violation of NCAA rules. What the NCAA has not said is whether said solicitation would render Cam ineligible or not, although it is reasonable to infer that because any other outcome would produce an absurd result.
At this point I think only ruling Cam ineligible is about the best result Auburn can hope for at this point. I do not think it is a matter of if, it is only a matter of when, and what other punishments may be associated with it.

By playing Cam last week against Georgia despite the lastest warning from the NCAA, Auburn has made it quite clear they will play him, and I certainly can't fault Auburn for taking this position.
The problem for Auburn is that Cam Newton has done nothing wrong from game 1 until now to render him ineligible. If he's ineligible, it flows from conduct that accrued well before the season started. That means that if Cam Newton was ineligible in game 11, he was likewise ineligible in game 1 and all intevening games as well. If that's the case why sit him? What do they have to lose at this point?
Therefore, it should be very clear that Auburn will play Cam Newton in the Iron Bowl against Alabama unless the SEC or NCAA intevenes in the interim, and I just don't see that happeing between now and kickoff. The SEC doesn't want the black eye, and the NCAA doesn't work that fast. I also think that is the best outcome for the college football fan as well. I know of no one who wants to watch a Camless Iron Bowl.

It was a fluke LSU was in that game. Auburn absolutely dominated, should have won by 3-4 tds based on statistics. They just had a few unlucky things happen.
