Who Needs Playoffs ????

LSU and Alabama are clearly the best teams in the country !!!!


Anyone  who was watched more than 30 Minutes of CFB should be able to understand this 


Why would you need to see  Stanford,Va Tech,Clemson ,BIG East Champ,BIG10,MAC  or who ever lose again ????



Don't Bring Up Oklahoma St !!!! Who lost as a 4 TD favorite ....While I had the Cowboys to win the NC at 33-1 $100....There is No way they belong in the Championship Game ...

Great for Fans,Alums,Players,parents/families,Host cities etc....

Once in a Lifetime vacation for all involved 


If you want Playoffs go watch Hockey or the Parody that is the NFL

I agree they are the two best teams but this means the first matchup was completely meaningless. 

I don't see how Bama winning the second match entitles them to the crown. Sorry but a playoff is the only way Bama deserves a shot at the title.

LOL, I can promise you not a single member of the Bama nation, not fans, coaches, or players will have any issues with recognizing a National Championship for 365 days if they are holding up that Crystal Ball at the end.

because that is the way the system is set up.. In a heavywight boxing match, the leader of the match after twelve rounds isn't declared the winner just because he was slightly ahead, when he knows the signed up for a 15 round fight... When Bama lost to LSU, they didn't drop far because everyone who saw the game saw how the game played out, saw that Bama actually outplayed them, and squandered numerous opportunities that would have given them the victory. Okie State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Stanford and Boise all had an opportinity, and guess what? they blew it big time, by losing to scrubs....

LSU easily best team.  no matter what happens this weekend IMO they deserve to be in the MNC game

but why Alabama?  are they *really* a clear #2?

and they already had a chance to beat LSU...at home...and couldnt get it done.

i think another team deserves a chance.  of course, if that other team is Stanford then it's going to be a bloodbath :-)

if OKSt beats OU, I think I'd like to see the pokes play the tigers.

Alabama clearly very very talented.  No doubt.  But, just as the SEC balked at OhioSt/Michigan rematch a few years back, I dont want to see a rematch of these teams.  Let another team lose to LSU.

Based on this reasoning (which I am not saying is wrong) than a LSU / Bama rematch is just a formality. 

If LSU beats Georgia than they have already proved to be the best team in the country.  Even if they lose to Bama they would still be the best team in the country based on their season vs the Bama season.

And to all my Bama brethren out there -- Roll Tide

Thank you. What always seems to get lost in this scenario is how totally unfair it is to the team that won the 1st game. The loser gets a 2nd chance to split the season series 1-1, finish with identical records, and oh yeah...win the national championship.

So the NY Giants shouldn't be considered Super Bowl champions a few years back when the Patriots beat them in the regular season?  Rematches occur in championship games in every sport.  Why do people get so upset if it happens in college football?

Just got to disagree ....Brother 

I Can't make a case for anyone But Bama to play LSU for the 

BIG 12  ??? No way ...Zero defense and Both choked as HUGE favs 

ACC     ...Just Stop !!!! While I have plenty of Futures money on the Hokies , No way 

BIG East  

PAC12      why??? USC might #3 team in the country right now ....Stanford lost at Home to a team LSU handled 

BIG10      Really deep conference this season ... BUT Wisky had the perfect schedule and still lost 2 Games 

Houston     would be a 21+ Point Dog to either LSU or Bama ...Best win is vs UCLA




All in all Brother Most of the Bowl Matchups shoudl be Awesome this year ...CAN't Wait

In regards to the NFL there are a lot fewer teams so there is a lot more overlap between teams and common opponents etc...  Also there is a playoff system where the teams the qualify are then entered into a "tournament" and given the chance to fight it out.

For obvious reasons this is not the case in NCAAFB.  Too many teams out there and so there is no way for them to play eachother.  And so we are always left with a subjective opinion of who deserves to be on the top.

This is why I think that many people have an issue with a rematch... Bama already played LSU and lost.

Also given that each of these teams can not possibly play each other it seems that  the only "less subjective" way to assess who the best teams are is to look at SOS which takes into account the quality of loses as WELL AS WINS.

I think that this is also a reason why some people think that Ok St. (if they beat OU) has an argument.

so we need...a 3rd game played in baton rouge..

Thanks for proving my point!  The Giants made it to the Super Bowl through a playoff.  I said the only way Bama deserves it is if they make it through the playoffs.  Right now they are being rewarded based on opinions.  You lose at home and you are out the way it is currently set up in my opinion.  If LSU would have won the first game at home, I could see the argument.  Bama lost at home, sorry you don't get rewarded for that!

No doubt, I am excited for the bowl games as well.  Just not as excited as I would be for a playoff.

You are still rewarding Bama when they don't deserve another shot.  They already lost to that team on their home turf.  In my opinion, atleast make them win against some "good" teams to prove they deserve another shot.
