Dafreak is Correct. Alabama has been preparing for this game all year. They have not played and more Importantly Showed their best plays.
While at the same time Florida has played hard to Win.
I think Saban comes out with some tricks to Back up Florida's Defense. They will have to defend the entire Field.
Does anyone else have a concern that if Florida loses Tebow will have a nervous breakdown ? He is capable of doing something crazy. He has become to much "FLORIDA" Although a hero their forever, if he does not win this one ????

does the lackluster defensive performance by Bama against Auburn not concern any one? they looked pretty average last week......
In a word . . . NO.
I've watched this game 3 times now, and after the first two scripted drives by Auburn, it was pretty much a dominating performance by Bama's defense.
Auburn entered this game having had 2 weeks to prepare for what was for them their Super Bowl. Alabama, on the other hand, played Tennessee-Chattanooga the the previous week. During the week of the Chattanooga game, Bama worked on game plans for Chattanooga and Florida . . . not Auburn. That left Bama with only 3.5 days of preparation for the Auburn game.
As I explained in another thread, last year, because of Auburn's 6-game winning streak over Bama, the Auburn game was Bama's Super Bowl. That very emotional victory in the Iron Bowl put Bama in a classic letdown situation for the Florida game.
This year Bama has made Florida their Super Bowl . . . not Auburn, making the Auburn game a classic look-ahead situation.
The bottom line here is that if you think that the Auburn game is in anyway indicative of how Bama will perform in the Florida game, you are sadly mistaken, and it WILL cost you money. Bama WILL win this game, and probably in convincing fashion.

I was responding to the assertion that Florida's offense is basically the same as last year's minus Harvin (Note: Harvin didn't even play in last year's SEC Championship game), and both you and I know that's not true. I did the scoring comparison to emphasize this point.
To win this game, I think Florida will have to score in the mid to high 20s, and personally, I don't think they will. I expect their offensive output to be similar to what we saw in the LSU game.
are you kidding me? you're suggesting that Bama WILL score at least 21 points???
please! your homerism is taking over your brain, freak...

congrats! this is the most ridiculous post i've read on these forums in at least a month!
well done!
i especially like how Florida has been trying as hard as possible every single game (like all teams do after winning back to back national championships and are working on a 3rd)... but meanwhile Bama has been just coasting and trying not to tip their hand...
of course! perfect analysis there, buddy!
in fact, this post is so stupid i am actually thinking i need to load up on Florida... you can't possibly be right!

Yes, I think Bama will do about what they did last year offensively. For Bama to win, I think they need to hold Florida under 20 points, much like LSU did. Meanwhile offensively they'll need to get in the 20s which I think they will. Therefore, if I believe Bama will get in the 20s, then Florida will obviously have to score more than that to win. That means mid 20s.

Ice, I will add that the biggest asset of Florida's defense is speed, and they tackle very well when they get there. The best way to defeat speed is to attack it head on. This plays well into Bama's smash-mouth approach. That approach worked very well for Bama last year, and it probably will again this year. I think the difference this year will be that Bama's defense will do a much better job of getting off of the field on 3rd down. Had that occurred in the 4th quarter of last year's game, Bama would have won because their offensive line had pretty much taken over the game at that point.

Honestly how many of those alabama defensive players will even have a shot of being drafted in the NFL?
I will probably just not bet this game.
Seriously. In EVERY mock draft ive seen Alabama has atleast 3 defensive guys going in the first and second rounds.Terrance Cody will go between 14-20 in the first round.Javier Arenas will be a late 1st/early 2nd rounder and if Rolando Mcclain doesnt stay one more season he will do the same as Javier. That still leaves Lorenzo Washington,Cory Reamer and Justin Woodall who, granted, will be 4th round or higher but theyll still get drafted.Alabama has a possible 9 players both offense and defense that will get drafted this year.

Jimmy, how can you say Bama's defense is disciplined? They almost gave up the game to Auburn due to lack of discipline allowing huge plays! Florida will do the same. And McElroy decisively better than Wilson, wow, that is just crazy talk.
Florida 27 - Bama 10

jimmy, your homer shades are glued on for this one brother. some of the comments made about bamas season are absolutely absurd. so, their game plan was to block 3 kicks and score no TDs in the UT game at home? or have a 90 yard game winning drive with a first year QB to win the game? i just dont think alabama is as impressive as you think. of course their defense is great, and so is their running game. but a 1 dimensional offense with an injured running back, and bama is in some trouble. if and WHEN bama has to rely on mcclroy's arm, they will fold and fall behind. this is the best defense bama has face all year
and to some of the comments made. i love how quickly bama fans are to throw ingram under the bus once a team showed that he could be completely shut down. i managed to hear from one fan that hes not even yalls best running back? are you kidding me? he has won games single handedly for you. I am sorry but Florida will win this game convincingly, mark my words

I will probably do a fairly extensive write-up on this game in the next day or so, but I will say that I disagree with virtually everything you said about this game.
First of all, with respect to Florida's offense, they are merely a shadow of what they were last year, and the scoring numbers bear that out. If you've watched this offense much at all this year, they have a very anemic passing game. Their offense is pretty much a one-dimensional Tebow offense this year.
Florida's offense has also struggled to sustain drives all year. The majority of their scoring this year has been accomplished on a short field. Bama is one of the most disciplined teams in the country, so Florida will most likely have to sustain drives to win this game. Personally, I don't see that happening.
Second, you obviously have not watched many Bama games over the past two years because this year's offensive is much better than last's year's version almost across the board. The only position where Bama is weaker than last year is at left tackle where Andre Smith departed.
McElroy is decisive upgrade at QB, the RBs are better, and the receivers are a huge improvement. Futhermore, this year's offense is much more multiple than they were last year. That is so because the offensive game plans were constantly simplified for QB John Parker Wilson, and because last year was OC Jim McElwain's first year on the job. McElwain has installed a much larger portion of his playbook this year which, as I said above, makes this offense much more multiple than last year.
Moreover, I can tell you that Bama has worked on special plays and formations specifically for this game virtually all year, so expect to see some surprises.
Ultimately, however, it is Bama's defense that will win this game. They will not let Tebow beat them, and with the possible exception of Hernandz, there is nobody in Florida's passing game that remotely concerns Bama. As I have said in other threads, Saban and Bama's defense will be very well prepared to shut down Florida, and I am supremely confident they will do just that. Florida WILL NOT score 20 points in this game!!!
With u on this one!!!!!!

Nice Moral victory for you aubies last Friday.. Good job in holding an injured player in check.. But onto what you are talking about... In terms of pure talent, no Ingram is not as good as Richardson.. In terms of production, yes is he is, he is our featured back... Both are beasts and will be for years to come.. Remember Ingram is still only a Frosh and Richardson is only a Freshman...But do you not understand that one games means nothing about what is going to happen in the future?? That AU game have absolutley nothing to do with the UF game...They had to rely on McElroy on the final drive and he responded with a 15 play drive that took 7 minutes off the clock.... Might have been against a horrible pass defensive team but he done it.. When you say this is the best defense UA has faced, that goes for an anemic, compared to last year, UF offense also...Also you might want to check out your stats, UA is a very balanced offense, and will pass in this game to set up the run just like they did in the LSU game.. UF will be looking for run in the 1st half and they will not get it... But your words will be marked down in my book Bruce..

I too suck at writing unlike my friends, Jimmydafreak and Phobanbud. I have strong reasons to side with Bama. But for the lack of my writing skill, I will state only one strong reason. I have watched and played Bama every week. I have also watched Florida. Defense wins championship!!!
I will remain on Bama's bandwagon to the end. I have a very strong feeling with this week showdown. Please no negativity. I am only stating my feeling on this game. GLTA.

On paper definetly hard to see gators losing this game and you have to admit Florida is playing way better thank Tide lately. Hopefully will be a great game. I will be on Florida but small.
