Not saying he's worse (although in that game he was). But how can you say they would have won with Mallett in there when they allowed 65 points bro. You clearly did not look at the numbers that Wilson put up in that game when making your statements earlier. He was not the reason they lost that game my man.

Mallet was not having his best game when he got knocked out of the game by Auburn's defense. Wilson came in and lit it up. I agree not sure Mallet could have posted any better numbers.
When you've got an O-line like they do and stud WR's, it can make a QB look really really good.
But back to the point at hand. I very much like Arkansas in this spot.
First BCS bowl for the Hogs. They will travel very well to New Orleans and Arkansas is playing some of the best ball in the SEC the last month of the season. Petrino will have them ready and now they have a strong running game to go along with Mallet and co. now that their RB has stepped up.

That has absolutely nothing to do with my thinking here. Arkansas is a hell of a team and been getting slept on all year, I would have loved to see them play Auburn with Mallett
auburn scored 65 pts in that game. What would it have mattered if mallet played?

Right said Fred on this one. I have confidence in taking the +3.5 here as huge potential for payout lies in the winner of this game, as well as an even better preseason start next season for the R-backs.

Buckeyes have too much talent overall to be contained by Arkansas although they may have a better quarterback in Mallett...28-21 Ohio State (Ohio State -3)

With respect, I have watched OSU all year and if you think that OSU has more athletes than a lot of the SEC teams the Hogs have played you would be incorrect imo. I'm not one to think that the SEC is head/shoulders above every other conference, but Ohio State doesn't have anybody on their roster that is comparable to the WR's in the SEC like Julio Jones, Alshon Jeffry, AJ Green, etc.. the RB's Lattimore, Richardson/Ingram, Demps/Rainey etc.
While Herron, Saine, Sazenbacher and Posey are good, they are just that, "Good". On the flip side, people don't realize how average OSU's secondary is. They have not played a passing attack like anything close to what they will see vs. Ark. OSU will probably imploy a lot of nickel in this game, using Chekwa, Torrence and Howard. Have you seen these guys play? They are all average at best.
I'm not saying OSU won't give'em a great game, but to say that OSU's "talent" will be "too much" is a bit over-confident. Pryor is not a great passer of the football AT ALL. If the Bucks get down in this game and he needs to bring them back throwing the football (much like the Wisconsin game) the Bucks are in trouble.
With Petrino having time to game plan vs. OSU d-line pressure, he will find a lot of easy mismatches vs. OSU's average secondary, plan on getting the ball out quick and get his talent in space. OSU has nobody to cover Childs. I would assume they will put Chekwa on him, and that is a HUGE mis-match. Chekwa is the most overrated corner to play for the Bucks since Dustin Fox.
If Ohio State holds this offense to 21 points with that defensive backfield, I would be absolutely shocked.

i think ur missing his point. theres not many QBs that could have done better than Wilson. Mallett is a great QB, but he is prone to costly interceptions, and like moo said, i dont know if mallett could have done much better
This would be a smart thing to say if Wilson hadnt thrown 2 interceptions late in the game to lose it.

I agree about Ark being on a roll. If I bet this game I will probably put my money on Ark, although I like a lot of other games more than this one. I have watched Pryor all year and game in/game out, the guy continues to miss wide open wr's in zones. When he can throw jump balls in man/man coverage he fairs much better, however, in the games vs Wisky, Iowa & even Michigan, when he had to make accurate throws vs. zone coverage he was very, VERY inaccurate.
Again, if Ark catches some breaks and goes up a couple scores, they can sit in zone coverage, let Pryor run with the ball, kill clock time, and make him make accurate throws to beat them with his arm (which has struggled to do all year).

And Ohio State won't be ready or travel well or want to win more due to the embarrassment they had in the same stadium a few years ago? Has Arkansas played in a game of this magnitude? I saw their fg kicker miss a chip shot in a crucial moment. Will he be ready? OSU kicker made like 5 fg in Rose Bowl last year. I am sure he is ready. Intangibles definitely go to OSU.

Oh I know....I had to hear this shit for the month prior to the Oregon game last year. I think OSU could win 5 nationa titles and people would still say they are slow, play in a weak conference, etc. Every time I see starting lineups for good pro teams I see several Ohio State dudes. I guess the NFL does not perceive things the way some of you guys do. Cam Heyward will have a monster game and elevate his draft status. Jermale Hines will make that bitch Childs afraid to go over the middle. I guess I will just wait until after the game for the Arkansas excuses. I'm guessing I will hear that they had a letdown or something of that nature, etc. I'll be prepared.
