with all due respect, it seems like 90% of your picks are the favorite at the half. is that the case or do i just happen to catch those picks more often than your others?
I broke it down before but just for you I'll break down how I normally look at it..
1) Basically if I like the favs in games and think they will dominate the game I look at the 1st half spread to try and cap. If you like the favs anyway why not take them at a lesser spread. Most of the time the 1st half spread is just about half of the final spread.
2) look for a team that's a good 1st half team. Find the matchup that will give you good value. I up the value whenever the good 1st half team plays at home.
3) just be careful there are teams that are not good in the 1st half of their games but cover in the final.
4) I bankroll every season so it's important for me to look at 1st half of games and here is why esp on weekends....
a) I try to decide on my picks on Friday for Saturday.
b) The games are so timely close together example: Hawaii time 6:00am, next game at 7:00am, then 8:00am and so forth. I cannot wait for the final score to see how much or how little I need to hammer on my next pick. Although I already placed my wager for the later games I can always add on to it if needed.
Warning: That is just a basic outlook there is a lot more to it but I didn't want to put everyone to sleep.
I know I probably bored you with that but that's how I do it.

CollegeSharp, Dont forget about Oak and TCU. If history repeats it self like last night? BCS Could be in bigger shambles. TCU plays Oak tough. Last meeting in 05 TCU won on the road 17-10 and the previous 4 meetings were split 2 all. Could make for a crazy game, though Oak looks good.

I feel good about betting Uconn. I've noticed when reading these threads that when 90% of you pick one way the bet is to go the other way. I tend to like the team that has a + in front of the number. And seeing so many of you say Louisville wins easy makes me all the more confident.

Wow Cantwell is widely considered a bad QB. I had heard he had a bad game vs Kentucky and that Mel Kiper Jr. had him picked as the best Junior QB in college last year. This kid can really throw the ball he is the real deal and Cards win this one thanks to Mr. Cantwell
I try not to take anything a UL fan takes seriously especially when they are talking about thier team and thier players. Cantwell never did anything to get the hype and he has not really lived up to any of it either

Uconn struggled with both of the last two games they played and didn't cover either of them. Kentucky brought an SEC defense to the 1st game of the year.........the Ville outgained Kentucky in the game.....but turned it over on thier side of the field in the second half too often to keep it competitive.
Load up on the Ville tonight.........

Going with the LOU -3.5. Buy the hook to -3. The value index has the game set at LOU -24 which gives LOU a 21.5 edge. I haven't based my entire prediction on the VI but its definitely good to see such an edge when comparing each team statistically. 6 INTs and only 1 td for Lorenzen which is also a 1/6 TD/INT ratio. Expect him to throw a couple picks tonight. UCONN will most likely try to run the ball with Brown since he leads the nation in yards and the UCONN is 4th in the nation in team rushing but against the second ranked run def giving up only 126 yrds rushing all season and 1.9 yrds per carry. Pass defense holds a 54.7% comp rate and thats about what Lorenzen is. Not a favorable matchup for UCONN. LOU likes to run the ball too but I think LOU has the advantage at QB plus home field. I thinkThere is a slight revenge factor this year for LOU. Louisville will be looking to avenge a controversial 21-17 loss at UConn last season. Normally i have my mind made up before i read anything on the Covers forum and about 90% of the time i stick with my First instinct,Like last night i was all over OSU +24 which i played for 5 units.Then i start reading and it makes me think that USC is going to win and maybe cover.Well i don't change my first pick but i went and bet SC at the half -14 for 5 units,you know the outcome and I'm - a 1/2 of unit for the night.So from now on no matter how much i read here I will never let this Forum change my ming again,it has hurt me too often.Like on Tuesday at Philly Park race 2 i love the 1 - 9 perfecta,then i start reading a little how the 9 is 1st time starter in the USA (he was from Brazil) so i say SHIT i better go with the 11 instead,BIG mistake 1-9 paid 75.80cost me over 3,500.Moral of story never change your mind on a bet it'll always come back to bite you in the ASS.Oh yea i like Louisville tonite no reason it's just looks like the right thing to do.
