Clemson running back Andre Ellington will miss at least the next two games with a toe injury he suffered in a 16-10 loss at Boston College on Saturday. Ellington leads the Tigers with 686 rushing yards and leads the ACC in all-purpose yards.
This is obviously a huge loss for a team that's already down. Clemson's offense has struggled this season with Ellington, and without him, the Tigers' bowl chances take an even bigger hit.
Clemson needs two more wins to become bowl eligible, and right now, I don't see it, especially without Ellington. The Tigers still have to play NC State, at Florida State, at Wake Forest and a ranked rival in South Carolina. A 1-3 finish isn't a stretch.

how is clemson laying points to a ranked, healthy nc state team who is still very much in the acc championship hunt? clemson's loss last week @ boston college has to be a huge emotional blow not to mention clemson still has to win 2 out of their last 4 games which include @ florida st., @ a struggling wake forest team and at home against the surging gamecocks in their annual rivalry game to even be considered for a bowl. clemson's year is over and without ellington, jamie harper will be forced to carry an ambitious load the next 2 weekends. someone please explain this line to me while i take nc state ML to the bank

clemson is very very bad. Fans will be lethargic about making the trip to the game. State travels well. There will be a good number of pack supporters there. I think state wins SU.

okay handicappers, i'm a rookie and this is a rookie post. i have no qualifications to compete with you all. i just wanted to let you know how helpful these game threads are to me. you people provide great game information that has helped me to win 2 out of the last 4 seasons of a small time college pick'em league. we just pick straight up winners each week in 10 game sets similar to the espn bowl mania format. anyway, if any of you wanted to take the time to pick straight up winners in these threads it would sure help me out. i understand if you don't want to. i'm just making a rookie request. thanks for your time and keep up the good work. I think ppl are over valueing the loss of Ellington... Clemson still has Harper, who is a beast and a bruiser... NC STATE doesn't have the greatest D in the world(anyone see the ECU GAME?) They had the same type of back as Harper is and they ran all over NC STATE.
ALSO, Clemson is a real physical team. Their OLINE is huge and their defense comes to hit. I just don't think NC STATE is physical enough to play with these guys.
