I agree about Reese but you continue to hype am oka team that really isnt that good average power rating for oppents played N.D. 42.6 Oka - 32.3 and running the ball and playing stout defense is called WINNING ask the sec they have last 6 or 7 bcs champs. doing the exact same. Texas no def. at all ..Fla am well enough said...Really they lost to only all around team K.State. Even if we loose 1 game we still go to the Sugar Bowl ...USC as usual is OVER RATED ...they will probably loose this weekend ..
Please, let's not confuse ND with the SEC. Lol!! When the SEC played Michigan, Michigan got smoked!! When ND played Michigan it was tight. Also I don't think anyone would consider a team that runs for about 50 yards against Purdue a powerhouse running team. Besides OU averages more rushing yards per game than ND and more than a yard more per attempt!! If not for a quick whistle, ND would've lost to Stanford and you had your hands full with BYU!! That's just funny. It took the worst quarterback play in years for Kansas St to win by 5 points. Landry Jones fumbles into the end zone and Blake Bell whiffs on a snap from the two yard line - that's a 14 point swing! This game gets one sided very quickly!! OU will win by 21. I'll look for your post after the game!! LOL!!!

And how do you beat a team by only 7 points when they turn the ball over six times??? I dont think it took 6 turnovers for Alabama to beat them by about 50 points!! You should thank the priests that you aren't in the SEC!!

Not sure were your from but I watch sec ball all the time ALWAYS ...and Im not getting them confused ..The only point I am trying to make is well they are getting 10points at normand so are they really that much better ?....big 12 sucks on defense all the offense stats are bloated im sure they do have a better average .what like Kansas ...Iowa..Baylor..tcu .ect..ect zero defense .. and the sec didn't play Michigan ...BAMA did the best sec team. Look around on my post haven't stated yet the Irish will win just getting the facts straight ...Kelly is a better coach than stoops if its close we will win..

As of the end of the 2011 regular season, Notre Dame has the second
highest-winning percentage in NCAA Division I-A (FBS) history (.731),
behind Michigan (.734) (minimum 100+ years playing football).[9][32][33][34]
As of the end of the 2011 regular season, Notre Dame has the fourth
most wins in NCAA Division I-A (FBS) history (853), trailing Michigan (895), Texas (858) and Nebraska (856)[34]
As of the end of the 2011 regular season, Notre Dame also has the
fewest losses of any NCAA Division I program (300) that has been playing
football for 100+ years.[35]
As of 2011, Notre Dame has 104 winning seasons in 123 years of football, and only 13 losing seasons.[32]
The football program has the most individual Heisman Trophy winners
at seven (Ohio State has seven Heisman Trophies that were won by six
players).
As of 2011, Notre Dame has produced more 1st Team All-Americans
(185), consensus All-Americans (80 players on 96 selections) and
unanimous All-Americans 32 in football than any other college program. Just some real facts to tide you over if you could post some on YALE like that well i would be impressed

Here's what the Sooners are doing differently this year as opposed to the past several years.
1) The Running Game - It's back. Williams has the burst and moves to take it 80 at any time. Millard from the fullback position will punish as a blocking back and then roam the flat and down the middle catching passes for long gains. His athleticism and instincts for the game are impressive. These are options Landry Jones hasn't had before. He's only had 3 intercepts this season. Why? Because if teams load up on rushing the passer they will get burned by Williams and Millard or over the top. Jones is as accurate as Bradford and when on throws lasers. If he doesn't get trapped into throwing on the run to the wrong guy ND will have a long day/night.
2) Wide Receivers - A weakness early in the season because they were all new other than Stills with the spring suspensions. Brown from Penn St has become a monster down the field and returning kicks. Stills is still making spectacular grabs for big gains. But more importantly the receiver corps has gone from almost no cohesiveness early to huge cohesiveness now.
3) Defense - Sooner defense has been pretty bad the last few years. Now Venables has been booted and Mike Stoops has transformed it. Tony Jefferson has great instincts and hits like a linebacker. Tom Wort overpowers his opposition. And the young corners are playing lights out and challenging opposing receivers and winning the battles. The D line is strong and quick and can pressure from the edges.
4) Blake Bell @ QB - The guy is a freight train near the goal line. As good as Tebow was running the football. Look out in this game when ND loads up to stop him from taking it in and he takes the snap and raises up to throw it to somebody wide open in the endzone.
5) ND Secondary - It's a weakness for them. Based on the above observations they are in danger of being picked apart and big plays will be plentiful for the Sooners.
Bottom line....this team has gelled since early in the season. ND hasn't come close to facing an offense this quick and this good. If the Sooner secondary plays like I think they will and creates the turnovers I expect...then this 38 pts turns into 45-50 and we could be looking at another Texas like game.

That is all right pacesetter, if you are a historian but it was all done before ND had to quit hiding behind the skirts of the Big 10. Both have been exposed when ND had to begin playing in bowls for the revenue, and the Big 10 had to stop hiding in the Rose Bowl and not sending teams to other bowls. Like I said, the game changed and those schools didn't so the records before forward passing and hiding in a safe coccoon are over. How long since ND win a big game? All their wins this year are against the old Big 10 and Pac 10 teams, and the service academies.
Look, I hope Kelly gets them competitive again, we need more intersectional games that tell us something, but this ND is terrible on offense. Pretty good on defense but they haven't played a passing offense yet. Saturday night will expose them again. They aren't a Top 10 team except in the eyes of their own fans and some media members that are either Catholic or live in the northeast where few watch CFB. Just not ready for primetime yet.

Really like oka could hang in the sec ..get real and again ALABAMA IS THE BEST TEAM NOW and last year ...so bad comparison ..lets talk about utep , fla am , power ratings don't lie opponents played for Irish 42.6 oka 32.3 strong foes the sooner s have faced ...oh not Catholic and plz dont speak of the sec to me i live and breath it ...hard being a irish fan here
How does any of that explain struggling against a team that turned the ball over SIX times??? Bad comparison???? I was just responding to the comment that tried to claim ND was playing SEC type football. That was just plain stupid. Power Ratings??? Seriously??? OU destroyed two TOP 25 teams!!! ND has struggled against every decent team they've played. They needed 6 turnovers to barely beat Michigan, and a QUICK whistle to beat Stanford!! Bottom line is ND is lucky to have a win over a team with a winning record (besides Navy). Guess we'll see on Saturday.

Wish the Domers would back up all their bravado with some money. Was waiting on the line to move down to under 10 and it had moved up to 11 1/2. Come on guys, bet your conviction, don't just talk about it. If you don't bet the Irish with over 10 points you must agree they should be ranked about #15 or so. Break those piggy banks open and make a call!

Any team that has struggled to put up 20 points consistently won't be able to stay close with Oklahoma AT Oklahoma. That place will be crazy. Look at the past scores when highly ranked teams have gone to Norman. It gets UGLY. Notre Dame has struggled with BYU, and MIchigan - both mediocre teams. If this was in south bend it could be a different story, but in Norman....OU by 21.
OU will smash

I mean the public and the vast majority of posters on this sight think OU has already won the game not even sure why ND is bothering to show up. As a sports bettor it's often good to fade the public and it's false perceptions. OU lost to the one good team it played this year. ND is yet to lose. Not saying ND will win straight up, but 10 or 11 pt dogs is just insanity. ND defense is very well coached and is full of guys that will be playing on Sundays. ND will get to Jones early and often without having to blitz. Hate to break it to you Big12 fans but the Canes offense speed wise blows any team in the Big12 out of the water with exception of maybe WV. It's not even close in the backfield or on the outside. That didn't seem to be much of an issue for ND minus the first series of that game. What happened after that? Nada.

I dropped some loot on ND but there are so many suckers betting on OU that ND might be a two td dog by kickoff. I can already see the posts bitching crying and complaining about Chokelahoma.

And how do you beat a team by only 7 points when they turn the ball over six times??? I dont think it took 6 turnovers for Alabama to beat them by about 50 points!! You should thank the priests that you aren't in the SEC!!
Well they covered and didn't give up a TD. Bama gave up two so I suppose it depends how you look at it. Also Bama got Michigan first game of the year with three new D linemen for Michigan and without their starting rb. ND got the whole team in a rivalry game with some experience under their belt. ND D shut them down. ND offense is aenemic no doubt about it. However, when Golson plays well they are dangerous. Kid has a cannon.

I'll look for your post after the game.
I will take ND +21. How much you want to wager on that?

Yes we will see on sat. but n.d. also beat 2 top 25teams and not to mention the teams we struggled against (as u say ) defense ranked #4 byu..#5.mich.st mich#10 and im not 100% sure on this but i believe no rushing td against us so far...lucky or not a win is a win ...ask many teams. I hate to go into the past but cant help myself 1-8 that's sooners not dominating anything. Regardless of all the game has to be played 32hrs and counting...

Irish +10, I will hammer it notre dame has a good shot at a straight up win,
I have not yet pulled the trigger as I was waiting for the line to go up which it has, but after more though I will leave this one alone, although I do think the irish will cover the what is now 11.5- a no play for me

I know both teams have solid defenses but I feel the total is a little low for this one. Both offenses should be able to put some points on the board especially with Oklahoma avg 52 PPG.
Over 48
Aloha and good luck to all

Well they covered and didn't give up a TD. Bama gave up two so I suppose it depends how you look at it. Also Bama got Michigan first game of the year with three new D linemen for Michigan and without their starting rb. ND got the whole team in a rivalry game with some experience under their belt. ND D shut them down. ND offense is aenemic no doubt about it. However, when Golson plays well they are dangerous. Kid has a cannon.
Well shoot, I guess Notre Dame IS better than Alabama. You are absolutely right. I mean, who cares if ND only won by 7 against a team that turned the ball over 6 times. What's important is they didn't give up a TD!! It's irrelevant that Alabama scored 41 against Michigan and ND only scored 13. Everyone knows Alabama is known for their offensive ability!! WOW!! ND got the WHOLE team?!?! Well that explains everything!! Stop the games, ND national champs!!

I took a few minutes and read this entire thread, painfully. Are you people really sportbettors or just fans who came to this site by mistake?
This is going to be a very close game (no matter what OK backers think). I just got the ND ML at +400. If it loses, it's just 1 play. If it wins, I'll be paid at 4-1.
ND running backs will love this OK defense and the OK offense has yet to see a defense like this. This isn't Texas Tech whose defensive numbers are padded by teams like Northwestern St, Texas St and New Mexico. Looking just at those big numbers OK has put up doesn't explain away the fact that the only team they played with a real defense OK put up all of 19 points.
Hoping everyone makes does well...
