I know the 2009 season hasn't even come to a complete end yet, but it's never to early to start talking about and preparing for next years draft.
I put together a very very early top 10 list for QBs, RBs, and WRs for next season. I can tell you with absolute certainty, these rankings will change many times, and probably drastically. But for now, it should hopefully open up some dialogue.
QB:
1. Brees
2. Rodgers
3. Manning
4. Rivers
5. Brady
6. Schaub
7. Romo
8. McNabb
9. Warner
10. Big Ben
I really don't think there should be much question about Brees being 1 and Rodgers 2.
With the way Rivers has finished the year, I take him ahead of Brady right now, and possibly even ahead of Manning.
After Romo I think there's lots of room for movement on this list. I assume Warner will be back next year. And can Big Ben duplicate this seasons numbers again? And can McNabb ever play an entire season
Others:
A. Smith: really like this guy, could sneak into my top 10. Lots of young weapons around him.
Flacco: first half the year much better then the second. Needs some WRs, Mason isn't ageless even though he appears so
Eli: still not a believer, but he's tried to prove me wrong this year
I see considerable QB depth once again next season. Along with the 13 guys I mentioned, upside guys exist in Vince Young, Matthew Stafford, and Jason Campbell (if he's the starter somewhere). And I can definately see a bounceback year from Matt Ryan. And Jay Cutler can't be this awful again, can he? Ryan & Cutler were guys drafted from about 10-13 last year that could really fall next season and provide great draft value.
