I know the 2009 season hasn't even come to a complete end yet, but it's never to early to start talking about and preparing for next years draft.
I put together a very very early top 10 list for QBs, RBs, and WRs for next season. I can tell you with absolute certainty, these rankings will change many times, and probably drastically. But for now, it should hopefully open up some dialogue.

    QB:
    1. Brees
    2. Rodgers
    3. Manning
    4. Rivers
    5. Brady
    6. Schaub
    7. Romo
    8. McNabb
    9. Warner
    10. Big Ben

I really don't think there should be much question about Brees being 1 and Rodgers 2.
With the way Rivers has finished the year, I take him ahead of Brady right now, and possibly even ahead of Manning.
After Romo I think there's lots of room for movement on this list. I assume Warner will be back next year. And can Big Ben duplicate this seasons numbers again? And can McNabb ever play an entire season

    Others:
    A. Smith: really like this guy, could sneak into my top 10. Lots of young weapons around him.
Flacco: first half the year much better then the second. Needs some WRs, Mason isn't ageless even though he appears so
Eli: still not a believer, but he's tried to prove me wrong this year

I see considerable QB depth once again next season. Along with the 13 guys I mentioned, upside guys exist in Vince Young, Matthew Stafford, and Jason Campbell (if he's the starter somewhere). And I can definately see a bounceback year from Matt Ryan. And Jay Cutler can't be this awful again, can he? Ryan & Cutler were guys drafted from about 10-13 last year that could really fall next season and provide great draft value.

    RB:
    1. Chris Johnson
    2. MJD
    3. Rice
    4. Peterson
    5. Jackson
    6. Charles
    7. Gore
    8. D. Williams
    9. R. Brown
    10. Mendenhall

These rankings will likely change the most of any before next season. There's a number of others guys that I thought about for the Top 10 as well, and I'll certainly mention them as well.

I doubt the majority of people will take MJD & Rice ahead of A.P., but I'm tired of the guys fumbling issues. Rice could be 2nd if he stopped getting his TDs vultured.|
Actually, we'd probably be drafting Steven Jackson 2nd if he played on a good team.
Maybe I have Charles overrated, but how is he not a Top 10 back? This guy's been shredding everyone. There's definately some Chris Johnson quickeness, speed, and elusiveness in this guy. Like Jackson.....if only he was on a good team.
I'm thinking Ronnie Brown comes back healthy and picks up right where he left off. There's room for him and Ricky.

    Others:
Moreno: possible every down back. Could be Top 10 pick for years to come.
Benson: don't think he's been as good the 2nd half the year. Wouldn't be amazed if he was a fantasy bust next season.
Grant: consistent Top 15 back who gets stronger as season goes on
Turner: I saw where Matthew Berry has this guy 6th next year lol. Get off his nuts.
Wells: like Moreno, could be highly drafted for a long time. Rather have his potential next year then draft a guy like Turner or Benson.

Going into drafts this year, I didn't feel like there was a ton of depth at the RB position. There was about 16-17 guys that I wanted 3 guys from, and then a drop. And actually, there wound up being more depth than I expected. But for next year, I think there is some depth. Other possible quality backs could include, Ricky Williams, Addai, Fred Jackson (top 10 potential if they'd commit to him), and this years bust Matt Forte. And of course there are always wait and see guys such as LT, whose looked a lot better down the stretch.

    WR:
    1. A. Johnson
    2. Fitz
    3. Marshall
    4. Moss
    5. Austin
    6. D. Jackson
    7. Welker
    8. V. Jackson
    9. Wayne
    10. Rice

I actually feel pretty comfortable with this top 6. After D. Jackson I there's definately room for movement.
I play in 2 PPR leagues, so love Welker. But even if you're not in a PPR, I think he's still top 10
Wayne's had a great season, but the progression of Garon & Collie, along with Gonzalez return, could cost him some targets.
Rice will depend on Favre's return. I have a feeling however, that he'll do so.....but of course after a long drawn out offseason of possible retirement. And the media covering it every damn day. In fact, Favre is someone I forgot to mention in my QB section. I'd probably rank him about 14 amongst QBs next year.

    Others:
    Ochocinco
    Colston
    Boldin
    White
    Megatron

These could all easily be top 10 WRs. Not much to say but to draft any of them with confidence. Megatron could provide the best value of the group. He's easily a top 3 talent, and if Stafford can stay healthy in his 2nd year, huge things could come.

    WR:
    1. A. Johnson
    2. Fitz
    3. Marshall
    4. Moss
    5. Austin
    6. D. Jackson
    7. Welker
    8. V. Jackson
    9. Wayne
    10. Rice

I actually feel pretty comfortable with this top 6. After D. Jackson I there's definately room for movement.

As I think about it, I probably would as well. But 2 of my 3 leagues are PPR leagues, so in that format I think you certainly could make a case for Rice.

He may not be drafted in the top 10, but he'll be a top 10 fantasy RB at the end of next season.

And I don't like where I ranked DeAngelo Williams at all. Too high. I drafted that douche 4 years ago, and then again 3 years ago. Both times swearing he was about to break out. After shitting on me both of those years, I proclaimed I was done drafting him forever. Then he blew up the next year. Go figure. So I guess the moral of this story is that I know absolutely nothing about DeAngelo Williams, so should probably just cross him off my list all together.

charles is too high up. He plays on KC and teams will adjust to him next season. Mendenhall is too high and you didn't mention T.Jones or M. Barber.

I think your QB rankings are solid, your WR are pretty good, but the RB are off.

    CJ
    Peterson
    MJD
    Rice
    Gore
    Williams
    Jackson
    Turner
    Benson
    Forte

these are my top 10. Forte will bounce back. I agree with your statement that there is a lot of RB depth next season as I didn't even mention brown, t.jones, barber, LT, etc.

QB: I like Rodgers 1 then Brees 2... But I can't argue if you have Brees 1, it is more 1 and 1A...

Brady depends on Welker, if he is out for half next season, I drop Brady a few.

RB: I know you said ur in PPR league, if thats the case I put Charles above AP.

Most my leagues are not PPR, I agree top 2,

    3. AP,

    4. Charles, Big fan of him, but can he play an entire season as # 1 guy?

    5. Rice

    6. sjax... I am a slight bigger fan of Sjax over rice, but on that team all defense has to do is put 11 guys in the box and let them throw

WR: I switch Moss and Wayne... other then that looks good

    Tundra-

You won't get any argument from me that my RB rankings are jacked up.
Could you really make Matt Forte the 10th RB off the board next year?

I didn't mention Jones, because as of right now, I don't think I'll be  that high on him. Greene will eat considerably into his carries, and how will they use Leon Washington? 3rd down guy? And could we see Jones & Greene alternate series? At the very least, I think Greene will get 1 to every 2 for Jones.

Barber I'm not sure about either. That guy spent the vast majority of this season shitting on one of my teams. If Felix Jones could ever stay healthy, I think he'll split carries fairly even with him. 2 of my 3 matchup leagues are PPRs, and I want nothing to do with Barber in that format.

Interesting to see your love for mendenhall, i question his attitude and work ethic. im in a dynasty league...i have rice, mendenhal on the final year of 3yr contracts. i then i wildcard this guy....

Forsett will crack the top 10 next year

i love this guy, if that team could get healthy he will blow up because he has great hands too...i dont know what to think of Carrol going there.

    nice thread

Charles as #6 is a bit high, unless the chiefs have a major revamping on the O-line and their offense as a whole I don't see this...pretty early rankings though, good to see

A lot of leagues come down to who you take as your 2nd RB or 3rd WR since there really isn't any difference in stats of the super stars who are taken in the first 3 or 4 rounds.

For example, I won my 12 team league this year mostly because I landed Ray rice in the 8th round.  The question is who is going to be next years ray rice?  Forsett seems like a solid pick.  Could be Arian foster...

At WR- if Roy williams leaves the cowboys, i think Patrick Crayton could have a great year playing across from Austin, hes been a 3rd WR his whole career.   I was also big on Josh Morgan this year who wasn't was good as I thought he would be, but next year could be different.

Thomas Jones and LT will both be a year older so they don't deserve top 10 status.  Shonn Greene is a stud in waiting.  I don't believe Marion Barber should even be considered for the top 10 especially with Felix Jones and Tashard Choice there.

schedules will determine a lot of the rankings for me... couple things to watch this offseason

in distance leagues cj spiller is a must hope he goes to seattle or somewhere without a rb already there..he has b westrbook in his prime written all over him

moreno..get red of the garbage mcdaniels like jordan and buckhalter and moreno may be top 10

    marshall...where will he play?
boldin..think its obvious they dont need this guy which will make doucet a nice sleeper if kurt sticks it out
owens..dont sleep on this shmuck, still had a solid year considering team, weather coaching and qb all being awful..still gets deep..still has that breakaway ability...someone will sign him for a year
megatron..if lions decide to draft some o line or sign a free agent helping stafford stay clean he will bounce back at good value...they started to get a connection going later on in the year when they played together

    a. peterson...needs to lose back the weight he gained to get that breakaway gear back or someone else can take him
ray rice...will they bring back mcgahee?  that is the top 4 selection question there
mcnabb..its time for a change, andy is too loyal, kolb needs to play here in year 4 or 5, d mac aint bringing that team to a title, its time

earth to the rams, bears and dolphins..sign a wide receiver
earth to the panthers...get rid of jake delhomme..i would tell jon fox if you want ur job, get rid of him, maybe they did already
