Never really play a late game but the A's have my interest.

AJax: 64.7%

Hunter: 68%

Infante: 66.7%


Now this is looking at it before the game. Obviously it never always goes the way you think. He got shelled. Thought he would work ahead like he always does and be able to throw the crap to these guys.



I didn't add the other guys in from the lineup today because who cares about them. Cabreras & Fielders hitting stats are unreal.

a's have won like 6 in a row... it's tough not to hop on a streak like that... i will most likely be playing the braves again tomorrow going in to washington they will get good value.... after tonight i think that's 6 in a row for atlanta... questionable pitching match up tomorrow but the braves bats are hot, gotta ride em... as for the angels they can't seem to win just like they jays, and what do you know they were two of the biggest world series favs... milone was solid last year for oakland, and joe blanton i would not back against a hot team that's for sure... angels only -127 at home sound like a pretty good deal for a late money chaser in my opinion.... on the other hand angels are desperate for another win.... they started last year the same way, and i'm sure are getting lots of pressure to not assume this season identically but when you're not hitting you're not hitting, and oakland just seemed to have carried on that hot play from last year to this season... i never really believed in that oakland team but maybe they do have special chemistry?? granted most of their wins this year were against the stros but still they won each one of those games easily i'm pretty sure...

looking at the radar it looks like there is another HUGE weather system headed towards jersey, not sure if it's gonna hit philly but we just need one more inning, hopefully they can get it in

yeah the angels have a great 123 with pujols hamilton trumbo, but i would take fielder and cabrera over all three of them if they were all the same price as a package... cabrera can spray the ball anywhere, he is amazing... i always had mad respect for albert but barring injuries i'm sure cabrera will destroy his already amazing numbers, and i just love the way fielder plays the game... for a fatass that guy can run, and he plays with heart, dives for balls and comes up with them most of the time, and when he turns on those balls he just bombs them to right, i love watching princey's jacks, most of them line drives hahaha

looks like the phils game will count cause they're headed to bottom 5th now..   all ML's count even if rain ends the game after 5 complete innings

I find spring stats to be somewhat meaningless. Lineups are usually crap and sometimes against guys who will never play in the bigs. Only stat i really like in spring training that I use for the first couple weeks is walk to strike out ratio. Tells you if the guy is having swing and miss stuff while being able to locate and control his pitches.

kyle on a related topic, i often take the whip in to consideration more than the era... i want to know how many guys the pitcher in question is letting on base and maybe he has been wiggling out of jams and luck is about to be up... it's possible for a pitcher to have a low era and a high whip, usually just early in the season, like i said getting out of jams but walking hitters is not a good routine to get in to and i like fading pitchers that walk a lot of hitters especially against teams that take a lot of pitches

I'll agree with the spring stats to a point, I don't follow just the stats but see what Rotoworld says and how guys were actually throwing. Sometimes they don't have a lot so there isn't much to go off but sometimes it says a lot like even though a pitcher was hit he looked good or labored through despite not giving up runs.

K/BB ratio is big, totally agree there.

Yup. Guys can get very lucky. A good stat to track if you're into that stuff is FIP and XFIP. Takes into account the "luck factor" and what his fielding independent pitching numbers are and what his expected fielding independent pitching should be.

yeah kinda like earlier today when darren oliver took that ball off the elbow and it bounced right to de rosa at first lol, 9 times out of 10 the pitcher gets out of the way (like weaver haha) and the ball goes up the middle for the hit...

AND things like that can be really meaningful as a stat for a pitcher that only pitches 3 outs per game as a reliever... say they have pitched 5 outs total in the season and maybe one of them like i said goes off his arm to the first basemen and another one his fielder makes an amazing catch

And the Angels and Astros are up, damn I wanted to play them but so hard to pull that trigger so I took the mush nuggets lol. Lot of game though.
