I guarentee he won't have be ahead of Cargo in EVERY category.
So he'll have more homers and possibly more RBIs...he won't be far and away the best player.
If I make this trade...what happens to my team next year? I have Hamilton and Cruz with no Cargo. If I don't make this trade...I can have Hamilton, Cruz, Cargo AND Granderson.
My team is really good this year. I don't need to trade a top closer and a top outfielder for another top outfielder. It makes no sense. Especially since HR's/RBI's aren't my category of need.

Agreed. Make Granderson even a 3-year player and it's a different story. But the fact that I can get Granderson next year WITH Cargo makes this conversation stupid.
Yes...Granderson will have more homers than Cargo...but with him batting 2nd in his lineup...he loses some RBI's while gaining some runs. And while he's on a HR tear...he's still only hitting around .270.

I stand by what I said. In a keeper league, and my views of Cargo, this deal is laughable. It's 100% fair if it weren't a keeper league.
But you think Cargo's season last year was a figment of your imagination, and that's fine. I do not. I think he's the real deal and I think he'll be fine when it's all said and done. I don't believe I gave a dud my 4-year contract.

will you stop strokin' Granderson already, the guy is a career .260 hitter, hit 30 hr once, never ever broke 75 rbi's and batted .300 once in an 8 yr career..
you dont get 111 Runs, 34 hr's, 117 rbi's and bat .336 unless you have talent plain and simple... Cargo is off to a bad start but his potential in the years to come is limitless.. your better off stickin' it out with cargo Sparky, i believe he's the real deal and not a one year wonder, he's just struggling in his 2nd full year, it happens..

your dealing with Jamoaks Uriss, he doesnt trade players ! i dont think i ever saw him trade a player, no matter how much his team is struggling he doesnt try and improve it.

I will be honest with you. Both are pretty bad offers. I know Chacin is having a great season but you cant compare him to those 2 guys. His name also has no value. People look at Chacin and go who the F is this. You can go out on the waiver wire and find something close to Chacin ( i grabbed Lohse off the wire ) but there is no chance in hell you are going to find anything even close to Ells or Reyes out there. Those are top 20 players.

I agree. Reyes is a top flight SS and he's a 3-year keeper. Chacin won't drastically make his team better.
As for Ellsbury...that's KTB's main source of steals and he's playing well. And pitching isn't really his weakness. It's weaker without Lee but it's deep which means he pretty much runs the 2169 style but with closers.

Anyone can have a career year. Look at Cargo . Maybe this is his.
And whose better at coaching a particular position in any sport than Dave Duncan?
