Fantasy Talk week #3

First off sorry if I didn't get to your questions I went out of town for the weekend... We had a good time, but looks like we sustained some injuries that effected the outcome of our games.
 
My league records are 2-0 1-1 and 0-2
 
The two losses on my teams were a direct loss of losing Hasselbeck...an average score would have produced a win...
 
Anyway post your roster questions and will solicit from the forum opinions.
 
 
I'll ask the first question 0-2 team has now lost Mcnabb and Hasselbeck with rib injuries.
 
Had a free move and added Pennington, but not exactly enamered with his fantasy production.
 
Free market has Sanchez, Hill, Kobb, Leftwich, S. Wallace, to name a few.... Who do you guys like the most of these QB's  in the short term while my QB's recover from injury?

they all suck but id pick sanchez out of that, then seneneca wallace, dont pay attention what kolb did cause he played new orleans

If I was you depending on if you have 2 roster spaces open I would stash Sanchez or Hill and rotate the others depending on weekly match ups! Is Collins available?

who would you pick up johnny knox or mike sims walker,and should i drop earl bennet for one of them?

Yes Collins is available too ... Maybe I should have thrown him in there too.
 
bird- I think sims-Walker has the greater upside isn't Williamson injured

tough decision for me as id rather have a reciever with cutler as the qb over a team with mjd as there rb and garrard as the qb, but sims walker was outstanding this sunday

Long term, Hill. Short term Sanchez. (pretty good schedule coming up) Is Garrard or Trent Edwards available? I'd probably take either of them over any of the others you listed.

Take Sanchez then Collins ..
 
Sanchez has moxie/poise like Matt Ryan and he's not a stupid gunslinger like Jay Cutler..
Collins is a solid veteran..

Question...  Is Manningham now the #1 guy in NY?  Is he worth dropping Hixon?  I'm thinking yes.  Between Smith Hixon and Nicks, who would have thought Manningham would be the guy to get!

1st year in a keeper league...
 
i know some 1 who wants a first round pick next season and i can give him ward, driver and 1st rounder next year for m jones-drew. is it worth it?? my 2 keepers on my team for next year are r.moss and p.manning. if i go and get mjd i would keep him and moss. its a ppr league your thoughts?

After checking the advice of the forum... I had overlooked Collins. May pick up Sanchez and Collins ...just what I need 4 QB's on a 16 man roster
 
munch- Hard to disagree, but I do believe he has excelled with Nicks and Hixon being injured. I still think Nicks when he recovers from this foot injury will have some huge games like he did at North Carolina. For the time being I couldn't disagree with you at all wanting him over Hixon.
 
small- As many leagues as I have done over 10 years I have never done a keeper league.  With that said I am not sure that MJD is going to live up to his preseason top 3 selection. Looks like you have some depth at RB when Bell returns from his MCL injury. Hightower has really been dependable through 2 games. 
 
You are not not going to miss Driver... If you only need to WR's and you have Moss and S. Smith. Ward is trapped in a RBBC in Tampa but it looks like him and Carnell we see most touches.
 
What I am trying to say is it will definetely help you and your team this year, but losing that 1st round pick will adversely effect the team you have in 2010. It really becomes a question of how much will MJD help your team this year, looking at your roster I piece it together with T Jones/Bell and Hightower personally.

BP- I agree with your choice to pick up Collins and Sanchez, they just seem most likely to keep their jobs.
Sanchez who I am not that big on has the benefit of having a solid defense so he wont have to win many on his own ala Flacco of last year
Leftwich could provide some upside and I think he will out produce Sanchez however who knows how long he keeps the job with TB losing

Questions
I currently have SD defense and Seattle's would you drop either for AZ's (hasnt allowed a 100 yrd rusher yet) or Chicago's defense
I am disappointed in SD D as they have given up big weeks thus far to Russell and Flacco
also

L.Robinson, Sims Walker, Knox, Endelman  - rate them
T.Choice, Forsett - rate them

HG - SD's D has done nothing so far and I think injuries have hurt Seattle's D.

I would take a shot at Chicago D first (since they play Sea) b/c AZ plays Indy this week.  Also, would consider Denver D vs. Oak or Cincy vs. Pitt

ARIZONAS D PLAYED GREAT AT THE END OF THE SEASON LAST YR AND IT LOOKS LIKE IT CARRIED OVER TO THIS YR, EVERYONE IS SLEEPING ON THEM BUT THEYRE REALLY GOOD

Edleman is for real in that patriots offense if welker is out.
 
And Mike Simms-Walker is the next WR star in NFL.
 
Kids played two games when he hasnt been injured, and put up pro-bowl numbers in both.

I have Question Im struggling with at RB
 
I am in a flex league, 2 rb, 2 wr,  1 wr/rb
 
I have:
 
Gore
Pierre Thomas @ Buff
Fred Taylor @ Atl
Lendale White @ jets
 
Ocho- vrs Steelers
Santonio hands holmes @ Bengals
Mike Simms Walker @ Houston
Percy harvin vrs SF
Lance Moore @ buff
 
What you guys think, I have currently slated the following
 
rb- Gore
rb- Pierre Thomas (Gulp)
Wr- Ocho
WR- Santonio
FLEX- Mike Walker
 
Im thinking Mike Walker is for real, but I prefer using a RB at flex thinking fred taylor might have a nice day, also Percy has been solid man cant complain about him, averaging 11 a week...........not sure what I will decide, maybe you can sway me one way or the other. Thanks

I understand that, but I been following him every week 52 weeks a year, and I think hes going to be a great WR, I know alot of people that think very highly of him. I collect sportscards to basically turn a profit, and Mike Walker has been selling for around $20 the whole year through which is very high considering he hasnt done anything. I just feel he is going to be a very nice WR if he can stay healthy.

I would say it depends if maybe a Ben Watson is available on the waiver wire

I have Greg olsen in one of my leagues, I think he will become more of a factor when Jay gets more comfortable with his new team.

Yea I know, I am desperately trying to work a trade for someone that the owner doesnt think the world of.
 
But everytime I try to trade everyone thinks there guy is the shit, lol, Id like to get cadilac and package him for lendale and someone else.
 
Funny story is I put myself on auto-draft by accident and it picked lendale white, lol
