First Draft of the Season

Completed my first draft this morning.  Need some opinions on how to improve this team.  Any ideas are welcome.  14 teams, 24 roster spots, with 6 keepers.  We keep 1 franchise forever, 1 franchise that you cant keep 2 years in a row, 3 rookies, and a player drafted in the 9th round or later.  Rookies we keep for 5 years.  We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 kicker, 1 DT/DE, 1 LB, and 1 CB/S.  Here is my squad with my keepers labeled.

As you can see this is a relatively deep league, with a huge emphasis on rookies.  We actually lowered our roster size from 26, down to 24 this year.  I am weak at running back, and definitely want to acquire another #1 guy.  Any other ideas are welcome.

You have some nice depth at WR... amendola could catch 90 balls this year and i've been reading good things on Decker. Maybe try packaging BJGE and holmes or mike williams for an upgrade at RB?

Jennings, Holmes, Williams all have the same bye week.  So I had to load up on depth, especially because we start 3 every week.  The Law Firm and Holmes would be a decent package to shop.  I am looking to trade for Deangelo Williams or Lagarette Blount.  I should have mentioned that we get 0.5 points per reception.

I'm in a half point PPR league as well. I really like it. Standard scoring can be a little boring and a full 1 point PPR seems like a little much sometimes.

Now would definitely be the time to trade off the Law Firm if possible.
You hate to give up Holmes, but Ammendola can service as a low end WR3 in the half pt PPR with some upside.
There's a chance Donnie Avery might not make the team. I'd say either him or Danrio Alexander is in trouble.

Even with it only being a half pt PPR, just remember that Blount won't get any receptions.

Half point per reception is a decent format in my opinion too.  I am trying to trade BGE right now because his stock has most likely peaked, IMO.  I am targeting Blount because we keep rookies for 5 years.  So I would have him for the next 4, whereas Deangelo I would have to franchise.  I have only heard good things about Eric Decker, and am hoping to have a solid #3 with Amendola.  

This league is about preparing for the future, as much as it is about winning now.  I took over a terrible team, and am constantly trying to improve.  Thanks for your thoughts blstuart.  Your threads have been great reads so far.  Keep up the good work.
