just drafted a random one that was starting soon. Feel as though I got a lot of steals and my team is really complete. its a 10 team league. I maybe a little WR heavy but think I got good bargaining power there. Only two backups I didnt draft was another kicker, and another Defense. As you can see I picked 2nd
Arian Foster pick 2 Cam Newton pick 19 Maurice jones drew pick 22 Vincent Jackson pick 39 Steven Jackson pick 42 Danny amendola pick 59 russell wilson pick 62 antonio gates pick 79 greg jennings pick 82 tavon austin pick 99 (sleeper pick here) Bengals D pick 102 Brandon Myers pick 119 Sidney Rice pick 122 Randy Bullock pick 139 Emmanuel Sanders pick 142 (will be real slept on receiver when drafting but good production should be there)
one dude pick the chicago bears defense at pick 12

That's a really good team. You got your dependables (Foster, MJD, VJax), your freak, (Cam Newton is the 2nd greatest football player to ever play the game), your high ceiling guys like Amendola, Austin and Sanders, top D, and most importantly QUALITY DEPTH AT EVERY POSITION.
Fantasy!!!!!!

QB & RB are solid even though I'm not high on MJD, he's still MJD and should do well.
I think you need Tate to handcuff Foster and would of used a pick on that as Tate is very serviceable should Foster go down.
I think you're weak at WR. Amendola hasn't been able to stay healthy is entire career. He has the potential to be a star, but can he stay healthy. Jennings is a very good, but he does have Ponder throwing to him. Gates scares me, upside potential if he can get back to his ways but Myers should do decent.
So net net, I think you did well with your first 6 picks, and mediocre in your final picks.
Hope I'm wrong, best of luck this season.

I like most of your picks. I only have really 2 people I would be worried about. MJD if he doesn't get hurt can be great but in some interviews and reports it seems he isn't motivated enough to get back on the field and start playing again. There are better TE out there than gates. Gates has under performed that last few years. Greg Jennings is a wild card for me. It is not so much of him but who is throwing to him.
Good Luck this season.

Its hilarious when guys pick team defense so early in 10 team leagues?? i mean really??
I can show you 5 league titles in the last 3 seasons that prove otherwise. Much of that was luck as Ive rode the 49ers D in many of those leagues. And was laughed at and ridiculed for having 2 defenses in one league. Then I took it down. If you are going for one of the truly elite defenses, thy are worth the 9th round pick. Of course it depends on who is available of course. If I have to choose among Giovani Bernard or Houston defense, the answer is simple. But this is a new age, having a good defense is important.

i guess it depends on scoring system for defences man....
like in my league i have always drafted 2 team defences YES but for exception of MAYBE 1-2 times of years past...the remaining can wait. It really depends on how much you are penalized for points allowed, as a TEAM defense. And of course if you are only getting points for sacks and interceptions.
Say the points allowed penalty was small...ie... 5 pts for 0-9 , 4 for 10-19, 3 for 20+ etc...than i would guarantee leaving defenses till the end.
For example in my league, the best defense would get 60 points- and the average bad team would get say 40? and 20 point difference in my league is nothing ( we get 1 point for every 2 yards rushing/recv), so it doesnt make much difference.
All depends on scoring system

Scoring will make all the difference. For example, in the 8 man league, sacks were worth 2 points! What I noticed in 2010 was that defenses were scoring in astronomical rates. So in 2011, I took a defense. I lost in the finals. Last year, I took 2 defenses and took it down.
This is a vey important fantasy rule. KNOW THE SCORING IN YOUR LEAGUE.
Its kind of funny though, we have one guy in one league that usually comes unprepared. This was a PPR league and he had no cheat sheet. So I gave him an ESPN top 200 (standard scoring). DEAD MONEY!
