What not to do during a draft.....

.....had my first draft last Saturday and it was a live one, in the same room. I started drinking about 3 hours before it kicked off and by the time it started I was so hammered I could barely follow my rankings on my papers. 

I woke up the next day and had no clue who I took. When the commish put the teams on the net the other day my roster was as follows:=(this is a no flex league and 6 pts for passing td, rest is standard 12 team)

QB Matt Ryan
RB Arian Foster
RB Matt Forte
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Steve Johnson
TE Jared Cook
K Matt Bryant
D/ST Arizona

Bench
Emmanuel Sanders
Kyle Orton
Felix Jones
Mario Manningham
Kenny Britt
Lance Moore

I'm pretty happy with this team right now but my point is this: 

DON'T GET BLACK OUT DRUNK BEFORE YOUR DRAFT!!!!

Looks like it actually turned out pretty well considering.

Yeah i'm not complaining but definitely not advising it. I was a mess. I actually had to call the commish the next day and asked who I picked.

Oh and I still don't know what my draft position was. Im just guessing it was 3-5 since I ended up with Foster.

Decent looking team in a 12 team league, especially being blacked out.  You could definitely use some help at RB, but I like your top 2 and Jones looks like he is going to get a lot more involved in the offense this year.  I would guess you drafted 3rd.  I have to get blacked out DURING the draft, but not BEFORE the draft.

I'm actually considering packaging Calvin, Felix and Manningham and making a play for Ray Rice. The guy who has Rice has garbage for WR's(his best is Sydney Rice) and he has Tolbert on his bench. 

Then if that happens I'm going to trade Arian Foster for Roddy White and Ben Tate. 

What do you guys think?

It would leave me with 

QB Ryan
WR White
WR S. Johnson
RB Forte
RB Rice

I've been a fan of getting a quality QB and his #1 WR and the Falcons offense doesn't get shutdown to many weeks. I know it's putting multiple eggs in one basket but I think White will have a good year with Julio Jones getting some attention from D's. 

I look at it as a wash with the Rice for Foster swap. 

Also I would like to acquire another TE but I'm not looking to do it in a trade unless the player comes from my bench. 

Any thoughts guys?

If he can only start 2 RBs then I think he's just fine in a 12 team league with those 3. Of course a little more depth would be okay.

Now if you could package a WR with Matt Ryan and upgrade at QB that'd be nice. I think Manningham will be about as good as Steve Johnson (& you have loto ticket Kenny Britt), so I might shop something like a Ryan & Johnson for a QB.

Passing TD's are 6 points in this league and a lot of the guys in the league aren't exactly fantasy fanatics so they tend to hold on to QB's more. I just can't see anyone trading Vick or Rodgers for Ryan/Johnson. 

Depth at RB is my main concern. I did see Jason Snelling on the FA list and was thinking about picking him up and dropping Britt. Or maybe offering Moore/Britt for a back off of someone's bench. Some guys did stock pile low level backs with potential like Montario Hardesty, Roy Helu, etc. 

What do you think I should look into?

Just remember, I don't remember the draft. Black out drunk. Didn't even know who I drafted til the next day. I'm willing to roll the dice with him for a bit until someone emerges from the FA list. I'm not dealing for a TE unless someone wants to trade for a bench player.
