what a display, although it could be argued that france has not really proven anything after rolling through a very weak group and showing slightly more brilliance than ineptitude vs a decidedly overrated argentina.  that being said their best seems quite stout.  on to the next one with a little bit different logic considering uruguay "rolled" though their group stage and portugal struggled to advance. without a doubt you could argue that portugals group was undoubtedly more difficult.  call it an anti south american bias, call it faith in cr7 to have the ability to be a difference maker a salah or messi could not, but i will be riding portugal.  feel like portugal turned the corner before last euro as a team that was all glitter and no gold, probably coincides with ronaldos bildungsroman. however i went to a pre euro friendly between belgium and portugal and saw that they had indeed learned how to play as a unit with a killer asset instead of dependent on a star to carry them.  that came to fruition in euro with a favorable draw as they boded their time and did not force issue. and believe they continue to be looked over. expecting a slow game because uruguay has hung their hat on defense but will not play under unless we are at 1-0 and play dictates it.

croatia should be able to take care of business. denmark's perception is higher than i believe it should be from what i have watched. fifa rankings are about as meaningless as the cfp rankings before the last week. while croatia's hype is soaring right now i believe it is a lot more justified. i do believe denmark will be tough to crack initially but do think croatia will wear them down like spain used to do.  if they get one i expect more to come.

way off on that one, althought still not convinced on england. sweden just not that good. germany, mexico switzerland brazil all lumped together as overrated.  if croatia gets through here without significant yellow card damage they should be a very strong play vs england. have plenty with the futures on croatia but expect russia to attack similarly to the way they attacked spain. although croatia have more firepower i believe to eventually breakthrough.

well belgium finally reverted to belgium of old and this time turned out to be somewhere in between different and the same. great run though and they were a joy to watch when clicking.  game was very reminiscent of argentina game in '14 and france planned them well giving them possession.  no meunier hurt really bad and i think martinez did not have the right combinations without him. oh well. anyways got my wish with croatia not picking up a significant yellow against russia although they did pick up significant more mileage on their legs and some minor injuries.  that does concern me a tad but the resiliency shown in knockout on top of class from group stage seems like a perfect formula to continue on compounded with the fact that i believe england to be fraudulent

what a special run from belgium. they were everything i hoped they'd be when clicking and were a joy to watch. meunier a huge difference maker and honestly think france can't play the way they did if hes not suspended. such a shame.  credit to france for neutralizing them as they did.  still deciding how I want to approcach the situation with my side piece. i really think they are destined and a more complete, experienced team. the wear and tear concerns me and will not be making final decision until perisic has been deemed unfit to play. regardless i will be playing it to at worst make the same amount win or lose as i stand to win a bit more on a france win right now. so that will be croatia to hoist at 2:1 for 4*. as good as perisic has been kovacic, who i think is most likely replacement, is a more than capable sub and could even see a slight reconfiguration with kramaric. i really want to go for it, will proabably fall somewhere in the middle

 Totally agree! It's been a strange World Cup so far, with no team truly standing out. If Belgium can step up and make a statement against Panama, this could be their chance to shine. Definitely curious to see if they can capitalize on the opportunity!
