Looking through all the metrics, lineups, recent results, past history I find these two semi-finals matchups nearly jump balls with slight leans but far more conviction in anythin can happen
My favorite and only play thus far is over belgium/france
Over 2, over 2.5 -115 to win 1 unit
Over 2.5 +110 risking 1 unit
Capped at 1 unit at 2/2.5 or i would hammer that..
Slight leans Belgium pick-em given the plus odds and england pick em but its expensive
Where are you coming out?

Liking BTTS and although I can't say the same for France (OK I can with Meunier out ) I think that Belgium EASILY nets one.
Trying to get a prop at my local sportsbook/casino for BEL OV½ and I'd lay up to -180 even -200.
But all I can get is OV 1½ +180.
As much firepower as both teams have the total (here in Colombian casinos) is 2½ +105 (most of the major offshore books @ 2¼ for the same price).
Bottom line is history says these semis are constantly conservative with BTTS coming out twice in the last 8 and also the OV 2½ only twice as well:
1-0
1-0
0-2
0-1
2-3
0-1
1-7
0-0
Seemingly the oddsmakers have no problem with punters taking the over here. That scares me a little.
On to the game I like Belgium to win/advance just because of a better midfield and I don't really trust France's backline although they have held their own. Also the betting public should be all over big name France and England, England totally surprising me to be honest. It seems like "their World Cup" regardless of the Xs and Os.
I like Belgium:
+½ -180,
PK +115
To Advance +115
BTTS -115 (small)
And if I could somehow get Belgium team total OVER ½ a goal maybe live or closer to game time.... that would be a VERY large bet for me.
Lean Croatia but have not analyzed the match and think England have some sort of mojo going on - almost a destiny thing - last time they hoisted the cup I was a few months away from being born.
So that's where I am coming out.

Cheers BB. Books kindly taking over $$$, history is on their side... although I will say that the price is getting more expensive the past 24 hours... FWIW - scoring slightly up this WC with 2.6 goals per game versus 2.3 in last iteration. Of course that could come down with a pair of 1-0 wins in the quarterfinals;) these teams should beat the average yet historically, quarterfinals are cagey and fall below that world cups average... I'll side with the strengths of these sides and play they over but not huge, 2 units...
BTTS feels good, may add a unit on that... Do you know what the odds on BTTS was in Belgium/Brazil?
I also like Belgium pick em. no result will surprise me in these matchups so taking plus odds feels right as does Belgium. But i cannot pull the trigger... as of yet... Also swashing around something like -0.5 +200 small, for shits and giggles....
Croatia simply isn't creating enough opportunities for me to feel confident in them... I have historically had the same issue with england but with kane and their size on set pieces, they seem to convert regardless.. I will not play england -.5, silly bet regardless of outcome. Pick-em is far too expensive. What to do with this game, what to do....

Lay off the ENG/CRO game, that's what to do - it's just one game - perhaps a better edge on Detroit Tigers vs TB Rays on Wednesday :)
But in the name of degenerate interest maybe throw a small bet somewhere - but no serious money. England has an intangible thing going on that supersedes Xs and Os. I don't like this match at all and have been burned by what I thought was a Las Vegas overrated England since their opening match - bookmakers also have been getting torched on England - not just me.
They say always fade the narrative and in this game the narrative is "Modric 32 no gas in the tank", "CRO a gazillion minutes these past few games and the Euro cup as well", "Hamstring" etc...
So my small degen bet will be split into 3 even smaller plays Croatia PK, TIE and +½.
Croatia squeaked past Russia on PKs and all need to be hospitalized according to what is on the internet these past few days. Yet England right now is only a +135 fav. I'll side with the bookmakers - but small.
BEL/BRA BTTS was 1.80/-125

No angle on Tigers/Rays for Wed (TB pitcher undecided), just trying to find a game that has no public interest and on at the same time as the England/Croatia game - as a joke sort of.
But usually those low interest games between average teams can offer some good line value. And no I have not seen any CL futures as of yet.

Saw a guy who put cash on a baseball team so went the other way. had to watch the baseball game it was ok but god awful slow was begging for it to end. to each their own most americans hate soccer want to watch baseball instead. average age of a baseball fan is 50 so i figure baseball will be closer to irrelevant in a few decades.

I don't even know if i'd say MOST Americans hate soccer. I am American and I LOVE the game and LOVE the World Cup, as do many of my friends. However, I also have many friends who could care less about the World Cup.. however, I think soccer is SLOWLY growing in terms of interest in the US.. slowly. In terms of percentages of Americans who "care"/like soccer vs those who don't care.. i'd say it's probably about 55/45 w/55% caring.. just a wild guesstimate though....

Just think about how many Baby Boomers and Gen Xers there are - the folks that are 50 and older - you're talking 34% or a third of the US population (https://censusreporter.org/profiles/01000US-united-states/). Now take the other two thirds half of which have 0% interest in any sport. Now you're left with 33% of Americans - divy that up and with NBA/NFL/NHL/MLB/Tennis/Golf (I know here is much overlap/multiple sports per single person) I'd venture to guess you have about 5%-10% of the US population that has some sort of interest in soccer. Thay % ratchets up somewhat when the USA is in the world cup of course.

What's your line on BEL TT OV 1 if you don't mind me asking Charlie?
I got it at over/under 1 at -110. its no way they dnt score so worst case I get a push
I was thinking about Belgium 1 goal but in my eyes, BTTS is a better bet if youre playing for a win versus playing for 'I think I probably will push and could flip of a coin win.' Then again, if you believe France gets shutout, that is another debate worth having lol

55% care (if just Men, and at best and we are just talking world cup not even champs league or euros or concaaf)... But care versus footy flowing through your veins as in south american countries is simply a different reality

Soo is it degeneracy when I'm tired on my way to the gym, I figure out whatever is televised with a line and bet .25 units to raise my energy level?

Took that one on the chin. Small solace taking France 2H -0.5 +185 if I remember correctly to win one unit but unposted as I was stepping into a meeting...
How do we not take France to win WC at -155 right now....

Took that one on the chin. Small solace taking France 2H -0.5 +185 if I remember correctly to win one unit but unposted as I was stepping into a meeting...
How do we not take France to win WC at -155 right now....
Croatia/England under 2.5 -185 to win 1 unit... of course now watch this game be played end to end but I just dont see it... Croatia is in a tight spot physically, I think they keep it compact...

and as I play this, I realize slightly more chance this ends 2-0 then 1-1 in my eyes. but odds of 1-0 and 1-1 together probably still makes this a good bet
