I don't even know if i'd say MOST Americans hate soccer. I am American and I LOVE the game and LOVE the World Cup, as do many of my friends. 55% care (if just Men, and at best and we are just talking world cup not even champs league or euros or concaaf)... But care versus footy flowing through your veins as in south american countries is simply a different reality

During the Colombian matches even in the group stage the whole country practically shut down - you'd better not need an ambulance or a bank or anything outside of what you can get from a bar/restaurant showing the game.
