Caught up with a buddy last night and he shared one of his bicycle stories.....
Was riding a mountain bike in the street (but fairly high speed) in moderate traffic. No where to go, red lights everywhere. Some dude in a pickup lays on the horn for BLOCKS ..... He jumps on the sidewalk but the truck slows down and parallels him laying on horn entire time. My buddy flies off (through a couple lights probably) and gets a couple blocks ahead of him and back in the street now. The pickup catches up and he LAYS on the horn again, literally for minutes. My buddy gets off the bike and walks over to the truck and calls him a bunch of names and tells him to get out of the truck. The dude won't get out of the truck but PULLS A GUN . Two passengers in the car at the time.

He turned around and walked away but my buddy is fluent is Spanish and the two passengers looked like day laborers or employees and on his way back to his bicycle he started saying shit in Spanish like "your boss is psycho" or something. He said the reaction from the hispanics was very limited and nonreactional, eyes straight forward and scared shitless.
He didn't actually point the weapon, simply pulled it and had it in his lap but didn't get it in the air. This was on a very busy road in a good part of the city by the way at 5:00 in the afternoon.

i bike to and from work everyday i have a mountain bike with "track tires" on it for road surfaces.. i will never wear spandex.. my ass does get sore from time to time..
one time while biking home i was just about home just had to go through this strip mall because of construction i just finished crossing over a bridge going at a good pace.. when all of a sudden another dude on a shitty bike cuts me off in the parking lot and i smoke him flip over and get my leg trapped under my bike the peddle got fuck and so did my ankle and big toe.. the prick smoked his nuts really bad deservingly.. i missed 3 days of work..
just like to say be careful out there..
another time on the main street in the curb lane.. basically going on the highest gear at a full tempo trying not to hit bumps when some dude in a caviler pulls the nose of his car right out just as a car was beside me i had no choice but to scrap up the front of the dudes car with my pedal.. i raised my legs in the air braising for impact.. the dude apologized as i told him to fucking watch where he was going.. i spat on his car and continued on..
i need to buy a biker bike i currently ride a schwinn.. i got the seat pretty much at the highest level.. my legs don't quite full extend.. which burns me out
