here's the book i'm following for this. i saw it in a health food magazine i read.
basically it drew my attention because i feel like i have more inflammation in my body than i should. i have back/neck pain that comes and goes. i exercise and i stretch and that helps but it always comes back. and i generally don't feel as good as i should physically and mentally. i wonder if food/toxins are the problem. this guy talks about all of the toxins that build up from drinking water and eating food that is not organic, has pesticides, hormones, etc. which have a negative effect on health. seems to make sense.
sharp, it looks like it's going to be tough for me, a pretty significant change. basically, he recommends a shake every morning with brown rice, pea or artichoke protein powder (i didn''t even know these existed but they have brown rice protein powder at my health food store so i'll be using that), ground flaxseed (i've cut this out but i'll bring it back for 30 days), lecithin, cinnamon and water. for those of us not really trying to lose weight, he said we can add half a cup of organic berries, which i will.
for lunch, the shake and an organic salad but he doesn't want us to put much on the salad. one or two of- celery, beets, broccoli, cauliflower (luckily) avocado, radish, and many other options.
a snack would be a cup of vegetables or certain fruits like berries, apple or pear.
for dinner, usually a salad with free range, no hormone chicken or turkey or certain fish (that are not as susceptible to storing mercury) and he does give the green light grass fed beef which will be helpful.
there are a lot of things you can't eat- nightshades, obviously sugar, and just about any carb outside of what you get from fruit and vegetables.
as far as drinking, just water and no/low caffeine tea. i rpetty much do that anyway except for coconut water and some alcohol on the weekends.
for those looking to add calories, carrots, artichokes, squash, sweet potatoes are ok.
there are a lot more do's and don't's, too many to list. you probably know most of them but if you have a question, i'll check the book and look it up.
yes, i still plan to train and exercise as much as before. hopefully, that works. i have two races scheduled in the next month. we'll see how that goes.
fried, i'd rather not have this coincide with the beginning of football season but the next 30 days is really the best window for me. i have no idea if you can rid yourself of all of the toxins with the program or not, but i can do anything for 30 days so we'll see how it works.
