I have used the Greek and Betjam in the past but since they no longer allow US players I have started using 5dimes for college football.
Well I have won some money with 5dimes and requested a check for $3000 on october 10. I have not received the check and have kept calling 5dimes and they keep telling me they have to check with their processor to see if they sent the check out or if it went to a wrong address.
I called today and someone at 5dimes said the manager is working on this and to check back with them this Friday.
WTF cant they just make the call to the processor today and find out what happened? I am sure the processor must have a tracking #. This is taking to long and don't know what to do now.
I am starting to think I wont see that $3000.
I miss BetJam and the Greek never had any problems with them.
It's a business tactic that's rather widespread and common. I call it "stalling". And of course the stalling is accomplished by an arsenal of weapons which all pretty much boil down to bullshit and lies.
Some of the bullshit: "verification" (send us 3 pieces of ID so we really know you are you, AND a copy of your utility bill with your name and address on it, AND......). As if somehow a crook got hold of your account ID, AND password, and wants to steal your money by having it sent to YOUR address! LOL
Lies: "the check is in the mail", "we don't know what the processor is doing at the desk right next to mine and we won't find out until Friday if they sent it out yet"....blah, blah, blah.. They make this stuff up as they go along you see.....
The object is to hold your money for as long as possible. No, your 3K is not going to make or break them. But your 3K, along with all the other payouts they are dragging their feet to ship are accruing interest every day they can stall.
I think you will get your money, and it's good to remember that "the squeeky wheel get's the grease" so keep hounding them!
I agree though that it's a short-sighted strategy which
should cost them in the long run....(loss of customers). The best long-term strategy for running that kind of business is to just be straight-up and forthright and grow a clientele based on trust.
There does seems to be a direct correlation between the DOJ crackdown and Black Friday and the incidences of problems with payouts. Either these companies not yet busted are feeling the heat or they are just taking undue advantage of the reduced competition.
I think these forums for comparing notes on the integrity of the various players in the online sports betting field are a damn good thing and we should definitely be letting each other know who is treating us fairly and who is messing with us.
Let us know when your situation is resolved and how long it took.
