Bank not accepting check?

Has anyone had trouble depositing a payout check recently? They said because its a foreign check, although Ive never had trouble before, last time being over a year ago tho. They mentioned something about going into collections and taking up to 6-12 weeks for me to receive the funds! Whats going on here??? Im in the US btw, and the check is from Canada. Help!

I'm assuming it's a small bank but they should still take your check even if it's a foreign check that takes weeks to clear.

I'm about to send a 2k check up from 5dimes and was going to see what's the best way to cash it?

Which site do you use? I just requested a check myself...never had an issue depositing checks before although they generally take 1-2 weeks to officially clear
