BO DOG NAME CHANGE. Uh Oh...What's Next??

Does anybody have any further information about BO DOG CHANGING THEIR NAME AGAIN? 

From what I've just read on OSGA, this time it seems more than another domain change.  I guess it's OK. But if you're used to eating Campbell's Soup for years do you want to see Sampbell's appear on the can?  This makes me nervous.  I don't want to wake up on New Year Day and learn "this dog won't hunt"...with my $$.

I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this with the usual political correct statement from them.. But in the meantime, if anyone else has more reassuring news, please pass it on, thanks.

It was made clear over 6 months ago that Bodog brand name would be leaving the US Market.

Heres how it breaks down.

Calvin Ayre is the owner of the Bodog brand, however when the UIEGA was passed he knew that it was pretty wise to get out of the American market. Around this time, he sold the brand to a company called MGM gaming.

That company has been running the site for the last few years, simply using the Bodog name. Bodog wanted to get out of the market and will be run by the same company, just under a different name.

That sucks. I already studied my opponents before I sat down to play this, I really dislike this new aspect. I'm not a pro but have been playing online poker for over 8 years and certainly have an advantage

Yeah..I agree.  Like adjusting slot % payoffs, these books are always scheming ways to add house advantages.  If we EVER get U.S online legalization &.regulation we might see some fairness and the beginning of legit competition on both sides.

Glad I found that OSGA link.  I wouldn't expect BoDog, excuse me "Bovada" from announcing that information on their next press release.  Wouldn't expect to see Calvin Ayre showing up at any U.S. airport anytime soon either.

Yes.  This all concerns me.  Not only BoDog...excuse me BOVADA.  But the rest of the online wagering industry as well.

Don't want to make this sound like an Apocolypse or anything BUT watch out for the end of the football season.  Another book or two is likely to take the money and run.  It's becoming a sad trend.

Guess that's for another post. 

Actually...there IS an advantage of joining BoDog...Uhh BOVADA.

1. Everyone should know that you should join at least (3) books for odds comparison and account insurance purposes.

2. Everyone knows that the public always leans on favorites.

3. Everyone knows that very often BoDog piles that extra 1/2 point to 1 full point or perhaps more on the favorite.

If you like the dog....you know where to go...to the BoDog.
