That's a great line. I have used the same, even embellishing it further by adding that i lost my wife and my home to gambling.
I have screwed with a few of these con men in the past, but in the long run it is NOT worth it. Your time is more important than theirs, as they have nothing better to do.

Also, unfortunately when they call without you answering, the number just goes to the bottom of the loop till it eventually rises again to the top.
I worked in telemarketing back in my naive college days, and a potential customer almost always pops up again in a loop on someone else's computer so they can now harrass you.

Here's what you do when the next one calls. You'll have some fun with this. Tell the mutt on the phone that you're down to your last $15,000. You're going to bet $10,000 with your man so you can pay $5,000 for one of their locks. Tell him you want the one game that they have "inside" information on. You don't want the normal picks that they give to their regular suckers. I mean customers.
The guy on the phone will be creaming in his jeans because he thinks he's got a big commission coming. Then ask him if they take credit cards over the phone. Tell him you want to use your platinum card. Now the guy will be cumming all over his desk. Make up a 16 digit account number, a bogus expiration date and security code on the back of the card. When he runs the card, of course it will come back as total bullshit.

The calls have not stopped, but the frequency has gone down quite a bit. Something odd happened, after the NBA Finals I cashed out and really stopped betting. The calls came but maybe 2-3 per month. However, as soon as I put money into an account, 5 minutes later I got a call. Literally just had a deposit go thru, I got up grabbed a drink went back onto the computer to look at lines and there goes my phone.
