So I got a check today in the amount of 2499.30. It was sent from a
Canadian bank which of course made me cringe a little but I figured to
bite the bullet and do my best to get it cashed. Well my bank, which is
BBVA Compass said it would take between 3-6 weeks to get the funds they
would have to send it back to Canada for collections and they would
charge me $30 and then the Canadian bank would probably charge me a fee
on top of that.
Wait it gets better...
So
I took it to three check cashing places and basically since it is a
Canadian check with 8 routing numbers they want nothing to do with it.
Wait it gets better...
So
I call BetDSI back again and say "what the hell am I supposed to do
with a check that I cannot deposit or cash because they send it from a
Canadian bank. The CSR gives me two options
1. (Laughable as all
hell) They can issue a stop payment on the check for the low low price
of $250. A bit steep for the fact that they sent me an un-cashable
check. All I could do is laugh when she gave me that option.
2. Was to send the check back to them and she said they would reimburse me the fees. After that I can do MG withdrawal at $900 a pop for a $75 fee. She said they no longer do WU or that you can only do $500 now.
Looks
like I am done with BetDSI. I have cleaned them out pretty good
anyways. In I month I made over 20k so I am just going to have them wire
me the remainder, take the $300 fee, and give my business to 5Dimes who
at least has a halfway decent payout. All the crap you have to go
through to get your money makes moving to Vegas a more attractive option
by the day.
I am posting this not just to vent but to stop other
Americans from dealing with the headache of BetDSI payouts. They love
to take your money and they process likity split but when you try to
withdrawal they seem like their heads are firmly encamped in their
asses.
Ohh how the mighty have fallen. I don't see how they can garner more than a C rating also.

I think you would have a case if the check did not cash. But you did not give it the opportunity. It's pretty well known that you are going to get a check off a foreign bank when you cash out from an overseas book. That's part of the risk.
The fees charged by your bank are not BetDSI's responsibility. Banks love fees and will charge them for any reason possible.
With that said, BetDSI is way too expensive and this illustrates how expensive it is. They also do not get lines up fast enough to do business with. There is absolutely no reason to bet with DSI when you can do it with Bookmaker which is not any cheaper but at least you can get the lines to bet and not have to wait for line moves.
5 Dimes is the way to go for the average bettor. Bookmaker/DSI is strictly for rich guys that don't care much about fees.

I'm going to be cashing out of DSI at the end of the football season when my rollover is met and I have to say I feel pretty good about getting a Canadian check. I thought it would be Chinese.

3-6 weeks for a canadian check to cleared is a joke. Next time, you should request a cashiers check instead. Cashier check are guaranteed funds that you can deposit or cashed anywhere.

Heritage checks off Canadian banks use to take around 4 weeks to clear...OP, there's not a friggin thing to be complaining about here, this is the offshore world we live in these days. Be happy you're winning, and you're getting paid.

It's not either. If a sportsbook won't give you a free payout, a bettor should not do business with them. That is a backdoor way of upping your odds and it is for suckers. 110 odds is good enough. That's the deal. They get the 10% and you get your money if you win. Anything more is a skim.
But they know a bettor withdraws when they win and don't care as much about fees so that's a great way to up the odds and have people volunteer for it. They are always playing the psychological angle.
