Question

Can anyone possibly a lawyer explain to me what this means. I am getting 50 million different answers about whether what we are doing is legal or not. I am gambling with a reputable offshore book and I live in the east coast and just wondered what this law means. I have read in many places that me, the bettor cannot get in trouble because the onus is on the banks. If they want to deny our withdrawals and deposits they can but we are doing nothing wrong? Is this true. I am just concerned because I have won a decent amount of money and I am getting different answers from everyone. Anyone understand this law and what it measn to us?

The UIGEA basically just went after credit cards and e-wallet services. You can still recieve bank wires and checks without repercussions. In a few states it is technically illegal but none on the east coast.

1. Gambling online is totally LEGAL for the player at the federal level.
2. The UIGEA has nothing to do with YOU, it is only relevant to BANKS.
3. The only trouble a player can get in for online gambling is tax evasion (other than some various state laws).

I propose an amendment to the Constitution stating Congress shall make no law exceeding 1,000 words.

Then we wouldn't get these bullshit thousand page "laws" that no one in their right mind would dare try to read.

My online wagering is an act of protest against this type of impenetrable legislation. Safe ports my ass...
