Thought this would beUSEFUL for anyone sick of worrying about getting paid, when they're getting paid, IF they're getting paid, etc. To those LIKE ME trying to do something, whatever to bury the UIGEA and the prohibition rules forever!!
I'm cynical but with NEW JERSEY, and maybe CA, FL, etc. now making strides the heavens may open this year to finally see LEGALIZED & REGULATED ONLINE GAMBLING IN THE US!!
CHECK OUT THIS ONLINE WAGERING SURVEY I found. Didn't have to give my name out or anything (just an email address) and got a chance to win a big screen HDTV for taking it.
It's pretty interesting...took me about 5 minutes or so & made me think about a few things for the future. Check it out...
Please Governor...listen to the people, sign the bill and keep my dream alive.

If NJ betting is anything like the horseshit they have in Delaware, I'd rather them not even bother.
My buddy recently went to Dover Downs for an afternoon. He came back with some betting slips. I could not believe how awful it was. It was like those little white sheets we used to get back in the day, but with worse payouts. ONLY parlays to bet. The lines were awful. The payouts were awful.
Total joke.

I do agree with the disappointment of Delaware "soft-core sports betting". Keep in mind...even the GOVERNOR OF DELAWARE lobbied to have full sports betting. It was the NFL and their insider lobbyists that were successful putting the crappy parlay compromise into play. **BUT..that was right in the middle of a new presidential election.
NOW it's in desperate states hands (like New Jersey) to get something done. And yes...the NFL and MLB will show up again trying to hurt efforts.
Just thought WE GOTTA GET INVOLVED somehow to help. Look at how far the tea party had an effect?
Check out this online wagering survey & contest. I think it ends on January 31st.
Glad to see other people are getting on the bandwagon too. Watch how long the damn offshore books take to pay after the Super Bowl. I'm not giving up hope!!

It will be that you have to live in Jersey to bet or use the online casinos

Yes. State legislation (or intrastate wagering) where only bettors addressed in that state only will be allowed to bet. That's the only initial hope at this point. Federal bills are virtually dead with a changing Republican Congress in power and Barney Frank departing his Finance Chairman post.
Interesting...in the survey there's one question asking you if you'd consider moving to bet legally. Hmmmm....
If NJ does somehow gets it done it opens up the door for many other states waiting in the wings...just like the lottery many years ago.
That's why I mentioned it's IMPORTANT to do something, anything to change our rights!! Write your congressman, take the survey, GET INVOLVED. Maybe one survey taken, one letter, one vote, whatever makes the difference everywhere soon.
OK...I'm off my soapbox now. Just think it means a lot more overall than picking Packers/Steelers -2.5.

The NJ legislation is only for casino games like blackjack, roulette, slots and poker not sportsbetting. The sportsbetting part will be on the NJ ballot in November of 2011. Another part is exchange betting on horseracing like the way Betfair runs its website. That might be ready to be up and running by June. I think since NJ runs their own Phonebetting site they will turn that over to TVG which is owned by Betfair and then Betfair will run the exchange betting for the state. I don't have any insight to any of this I'm taking an educated guess on how this will work.

The only question is WHEN it will happen and HOW it will happen. Other states are watching NJ very closely now to learn the best way to position their approach.
Yes..you are correct. The online wagering sports bill will be on the ballot this November. An enormous YES response will be significant & gain political attention. Part of the reason why spreading the word IS IMPORTANT.
It won't be easy but the smart money is surely not betting against it right now.

It didn't take long Florida too long to join the dance.
A new bill was introduced last week to have the FL poker rooms create their ownlegal online website with pari-mutuel online horse racing on the bill as a feature. Ironically...PokerStars and Full Tilt are the major ones opposing it. They don't want to get cut out of the action. Evidently, FL is a Top 3 US market. And of course The Seminole Tribe will always have their huge piece of the action and say in the matter.
So much riding on New Jersey Governor Christie's ink. Stand by..
