If this is a company account, I would just give the kid 15% of the company's money. If not, $1 a pie for about $100 like dl said seems fair.
But seriously, who can deliver pizza's anymore with $4 gas??? Pizza delivery boys barely made anything when gas was near $1. Now it's four times that.

I own a sportsbar/Pizza Joint and We Deliver.
Average tip with the stiffs included are around 6 dollars per delivery.
Average 13 to 15 deliveries per driver
Ofcourse they also get paid min wage Here in Cal it is $8.00 per hour.

Why are Americans forced to tip?? Don't they get paid per hour or something??? I just don't get how people who want to eat some food have to donate money to people who put themselves in the position they are in and if they're students so what, A hard graft of a job at a young age is a life lesson why should people tip you for doing your job.
The only exception for a big tip is if there's bad weather or if you have had the same driver deliver you the food over a certain period.

Drivers remember who does and doesn't tip well. I was having a few people over last weekend and tipped the driver well and offered him a beer. He actually stopped back later on after another delivery in the area with some free fresh chips that the store didn't sell for the day. I'll never have to worry about spit in my food from there!

No one is forced to tip unless there is a mandatory gratuity on a large party at a restaurant.
You don't like to tip, don't tip. Just don't go back to the same place and order anything edible.

I get your point but don't you think it's wrong that if you don't tip, the workers will spit in your food the next time they deliver to you?? Isn't there something seriously wrong with that?? After all these are people who get paid by the hour regardless if it's minimum wage, They are hardly Nike workers in Indonesia.

You know I was just telling my friends one night last week. I'm gonna throw out a shocker here but we were all f'cked up on many levels and no drivers in this house. I had not eaten all day....It's 9:55 PM, I look at my watch......F'ck
I put out there that I was gonna try and get delivery before they shut down
It was a Tuesday so those pizza workers ready to close early if they can. Well pizza guys can count on the daily partiers like us to ruin any chance of shutting down at closing time.

One of my buddies wanted to know what specials they had? I was like......What ya want it don't matter, its gonna cost me a 30 or 40 dollar bill regardless of its a 15.99 special or a 24.99 deal. I tip at least 10 if not 15 bucks on top of the delivery charge. 
That night they all said that's too much. They already charge a delivery fee. So they are one two dollar tippers
Made me think how people in the world tip their waitress more for table service at Olive Garden than they do a dude who drives across town late last minute as hell because we can't or shouldn't drive. So as f'cked up customers making demands of bring me my pizza so I can save $2000 or more if I got stopped.....Think a dollar cuts it
Why is everybody I know in life programmed that one or two bucks is acceptable for the miracle Dominoes just made happen late last min when our f'cked up a'sses had NO OPTIONS!
I place high value on this service with me having $30K in life court fees and various alcohol bar incidences. Tip the boy. Its worth it
The tipping scale is way off here in minds of the average guy.
Two other reasons I tip $10-15. And most importantly. Those workers know and remember if not make account notes. If they know that address has a high tip history, they will take your order after closing time sometimes. And the last thing I ever want to do is piss off the dude that was just standing in my doorway. In standing in my open doorway at 10-11pm.....If you were blind you would guess I was hanging out with Snoop Dog and gang. So 10 or 15 bucks is always enough for him to walk away and not say a word about what he saw or smelled. I'm a hardcore gambler but I do not ever piss off the pizza dude

So what is the tip? Certainly it's not 15% or 20%. That would come out to like $250-290. Come on now. How long did the delivery take? Maybe a couple of hours, tops? OTOH, yeah $10 seems way cheap.
Somewhere between $50-100 seems right, but this really is a tough one. There isn't any good standard for this. Sure, at a restaurant the % makes sense because if you're feeding 100's of people it's going to be a ton of work. But is delivering 85 pizzas *that much* tougher than delivering 2? Sure, it's tougher but not exponentially so.

Firstly you absolute moron of a man, Not one driver will ever spit in your food, Grow up.
What they will do is take your delivery last if they have another delivery, Even if you ordered first and even if your residence is closer.
Secondly and more important, You dont have to tip a dime, Just dont order for delivery, Drive Your Lazy a$$ over and place your order.
Do not waste the drivers time, wear and tear on their cars.
Delivery as far as you should be concerned is a convenience for YOU.
and to the rest of the forum, My place is more of a gourment pizza joint
Average delivery is around 40 to 60 bucks
No Delivery charge is they are withen a 3 mile radius

that is my gripe about tipping a bartender a dollar for a 3 dollar bottle of beer.
I am not a cheap tipper by any means and understand that good tipping often comes with benefits (especially in a bar scene) but I have always found this to be annoying.

Agree..the point was about the tip.
Often times a catered corporate order has a check cut in advance..so the tip would have to be prearranged or it comes out of the pocket of the receptionist etc.
