I leave October 26th. Don't know where yet. I have been able to spend some quality time with my family, and especially my son, basketball, baseball tournaments, talked him into playing football this season. And just been trying to spend as much time with him as possible. Very hard thing to deal with and go thru. I'm an extremely beaten man at this point. Just want to get this all over with. But it hasn't even begun yet.

I did my years standing on my head... wasnt that bad at all . BUt I also didnt have a daughter at the time... not sure if I could handle being away like that now that I do ... Just know that people got it way worse and this is only a temporary problem ... take any good time you can get and apply for programs they help you get paroled even faster.

Why dont you take your family and leave the country? 5 and half years is a long time to give away in your life, especially with a son who will basically grow up without you during that time.
Sorry brother.

Thanx to everyone that had something positive to say. Greatly appreciated. In 2 weeks it will be 1 year and I have had a good amount of time to reflect and what I've done. And realize now that I made some very poor decisions and executed poor judgement for better part of my life, I understand now that it is my family who will suffer. Why I still don't agree with the amount of time I'm facing and will probably receive I do feel grateful that I'm no longer involved in that lifestyle and I'm thankful that my son won't follow in my foot steps.
TRAIN69.... I considered that but you need atleast 1 mill to go on the run like that and why I have ampul $ saved it's not worth looking over my shoulder for the entire extent of my life. But I feel what u mean. Being without my family is the hardest part

I hope your right. I can't get my hopes up tho because it sounds like the Feds take that minimum mandatory shit very serious when it comes to cocaine! I just want this behind me. I learned my lesson, isn't like I'm going to do it again.

You'll be alright brother. Just keep your head straight. Hopefully they will let you out early.
The important thing is that you aren't going to state prison. If that were the case, I would tell you to leave the country immediately. You'll be alright.

Cocaine charge will automatically qualify you for the RDAP; Residential Drug Abuse Program. 1 yr off your sentence, plus Halfway house 6-9 months, plus Camp 1 yr. Seriously, nothing to worry about. Be TRU to the Game, and the Game will Be TRU to YOU.

SO LETS NOT PUT KILLERS IN JAIL EITHER BECAUSE YOU KNOW ANOTHER ONE WILL JUST POP UP.
YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING
Big difference between a killer and someone dealing drugs that doesn't commit any violent acts.
One is taking life, the other is providing a service to people that will seek that service elsewhere regardless of the provider.
As long as the OP, or any dealer for that matter, hasn't committed any violent acts then I see no problem with dealing drugs.
It's when the violence over turf, customers, or product starts is when drugs become a real issue.
Yes there will be overdoses. However, people will continually drink themselves to death and smoke til lung cancer takes their life, or even eat themselves into a diabetic state. All that is ok by our societies standards, however, smoking weed or doing coke isn't. Prescription pills are ok as long as a doctor, any doctor, says it's cool even if he has a financial incentive to issue them. Weed isn't though.
As long as there is no violence involved in the dealing then I see no problem with it. Even with drugs as bad as heroin and meth. Do you really think continually fighting to put dealers behind bars is going to prevent people from using drugs? It hasn't yet and never will.
Want to end most of the violence in this industry? Legalize the products. It's the exact same as prohibition. Outlaw an industry that has ample demand and someone will be there to supply that demand.....by any means necessary as long as it pays enough.
But equating a killer to a non violent drug dealer is a tad bit extreme imo.
