Never have really owned anything other than a fairly cheap, Wal-mart buy Vacuum cleaner. But now I have my own house with new carpeting so I care a lot more about that kinda stuff. I have a Basset Hound dog who leaves her hair everywhere and I notice that after I vacuum, there is still some visible hair on the carpet. I notice it when im sitting down playing with the kid. Heard some good things about this dyson vacuum cleaner...this woman @ work says it's the best thing out there. Anyone own one?

I have three inside dogs and the dyson has helped a ton. Lady that does most the cleaning says its the best thing since sliced bread. The only prob i have with it is the wand bein kinda awkward. But the animal is worth 500 bucks. Like u say its your stuff and the cost will save you money in the long run.

I have the pet Dyson (purple one) and it does a great job. However, you should be aware that if you have new carpet I have been reading that Dyson and its "beater bar" will revoke your carpets warranty if you use it on your carpet. Apparently the vaccum is so good that it will litterly unravel your carpet threads. Just a heads up. BOL!

Dyson are no better (in fact a lot worse) than a 150 dollar hoover. I have had them all, and the dyson is just a 500 dollar waste of money that does no better than a good hoover.
Consumer reports consistently has dyson rated towards the very bottom.

yeah i own the exact model> its a really good vacum. The core ball in the base helps maneuver around tight corners and tough spots in the house. its very light weight surprisingly, So its easy on the your back. It's really a great vacum, I think the warranty is 25 years, but i would have to get back to you that, im not sure.

I know you have trouble reading, but if you could get someone to read my post to you you would find out that I stated I have several vacuums - and in fact have had a dyson.
Nothing special. Would take 3 hoovers any day over one dyson. And consumer reports agrees with me.

what exactly is your point?
toyota/lexus have been and still are among the most reliable automobiles on the market.. all these reports you are hearing in the news have no hard evidence and could not be recreated by investigators. Sure there was a problem but what company doesn't have them?

My point is that reviews, reports and even laws are open to the highest bidder. It's how big business gets away with murder. Don't trust everything you read.

Man i always thought of you as a smart guy, but when you make posts saying you get your info from consumer reports, i have to question myself.
Consumer reports is just another scam outfit and if you think otherwise, you have been drinking to much on your yacht.
Dysons blow away hoovers all day long and thats from owning both types of cleaners. I didnt listen to a bunch of idiots in some magazine who are able to get bought off as easy as Tim Donaghy did on a friday night basketball game.
Oh and another thing Van, i didnt like your comment to me about the health care bill in the politics forum. You took what i wrote the wrong way.
Now stick to gambling and leave the vaccum cleaning to the rest of us.

I have had the purple Dyson (The Animal) for about 5 years and it is hands down the best vacuum I have ever owned. It still works as good as the day I bought it and you never have to buy vacuum bags.
- For anyone who thinks it works the same as a hoover, make sure you have turned the Dyson 'on'.
