The men were killed for who they WERE 10 years ago, not for what they were at the time of the killings.
They were rehabilitated. One of them found art and started teaching arts. The other became a pastor, and started a charity, cooking classes for the inmates, philosophy classes etc etc.
I don't condone what they did, but why kill them? Why not put a shovel in there hands and make them work for 12 hours a day 6 days a week to help fix the roads etc etc?
What good are they 6 feet under?
Also, the Indonesian government is the very definition of corruption. The government takes a so called hard line stance against drugs, yet the prisons are fully flooded with drugs with officers turning a blind eye in return for money.
Stories have also come out that the judges asked for $130k in return for a lighter sentence.
If the government is so concerned about the effect drugs have on society and how they destroy lives, then why don't they also make alcohol illegal., which also destroys several lives. Tobacco related deaths also exceed drug related deaths. Why don't they ban tobacco?
The reason? because they make revenue off alcohol and tobacco...That's whats it all about...money and political motivations. They don't care about people.
The Indonesian government comes out and says you have to respect our laws, it is there laws, hence no clemency, so why on earth are they asking for clemency from other presidents and prime ministers in countries where Indonesians are facing the death penalty? HYPOCRITES.
That's all what they are about, $$$$$ and political motivations.

Those cultures take drugs very seriously in terms of what they do to their children and generations to come. I understand and respect that on one hand but the other I don't.....executions that is.
Know the rules in foreign lands before you engage in a punishable by death sentence. There are no appeals, there is no influence from home countries. They will put a man up against a brick wall and fire. They view drug trafficking as an assault on their people. That would be accurate I suppose.

And what does alcohol abuse do? Destroys and kills many lives...yet, not only isn't it banned, but it gets advertised...
Its not about the people..Its about $$$$$$$ and political motivations...Always has and always will be.
