Play Pebble twice a year- I have a few patients that work there at higher up positions and they set me up with caddies that are heading out to play on their day off. I have to carry my own bag but there is nothing like playing golf with caddies that are playing with you. Usually get some good stories as well.

Tehema- Clint Eastwoods place. Only played it twice. 300 members only 150 actually live in the Monterey area so you never see anyone on the course. Got invited to play in "The Clint" this year, his annual tourney. His fucking wife actually bakes cookies for the members there. Has a 30000 sq ft home he is building on the course.

Blackwolf is nice but when you factor in the history of Pebble and the scenery of the Monterey area, in my opinion that can't be beat.

    TPC Stadium Course at Sawgrass.

Good news - stuck my first shot on the 17th island green 8' from the cup and made birdie

Bad news - shot 94 for the round, 12 strokes above average

Since I'm a Golf Course Supt, I've had the privilidge to have played some of the greatest courses in the US

    My favorite by far

    Oakmont

followed by Pine Valley, Merion, Shinny, Riviera, Southern Hills, LA Country Club, Winged Foot, Plainfield to name a few.  I've never played Augusta, but went down for my first Masters...that is a really special place, and I have an in to get there one day.  Like I said, a nice perk of being in the golf business..

Wow! You guys have played some nice courses.  My favorite is still Shinecock.  What about other areas that rate like best lunch etc...

My best luch would be the LOBSTER served at The National Golf Links overlooking Long Island Sound, which butts right up to my favorite course Shinecock.

Played Wing Foot, Beth Page, Maidstone, Seminole, just to name a few, adn like Tonyturf being a golf professional has its perks.

I have heard that National is amazing, my roommate played it a few times and said it was unbelievable.

I have gotten to play a lot of tournament golf in that area.  Both Winged Foot courses, both Baltusrol courses, Quaker Ridge, Bethpage Black and Red

This is really tough because are you talking about condition, view, popularity? I played the US Am at Eastlake. The rough was twice as high as it is for the tour championship. Colonial is good, but not great. I could go on for ever but the best courses are not just what you see on tv or read in golf digest. A lot of thats political and I cant afford to pay those type of fees. I played a great course just into virginia from DC. I dont remember the name but it was built by an old prison. There is another really good one 40 minutes north of Wichita. I dont even remember the names but I have played so many courses all over the country in the last 10 years its unreal.

THE question was best golf course you ever played, not your top 16...........The best golf course, I ever played, is #1 in the world, and that is PINE VALLEY, no course compares. Without a doubt, the toughest course I have played, shot a 106 in a monsoon, the same day, Atlantic City got hit by a hurricane Gloria in 1985.

Played PGA west a few years ago, it was nice but unforgiving. Bandon dunes, tough course and amazing views. My most memorable round was in Vegas at Bali high, but not the course itself. We had an early tee off but unbeknownst to us there was a Playboy sponsored celebrity tourney. By the 9th hole there were bunnies crawling everywhere completely F'd up my concentration. They let us mingle with the crowd after, met a few b and c list celebrities. Ah the good ole days.

Cherry Hills in Colorado. 1st fairway was like a hallway lined with trees.

Lost all of my balls off the 1st tee and went back to the pool.

Nice job guys.  Have any of you played Calusa Pines in Naples FL?  That is one of the best I have played in FL, better than Seminole,Bears Club, Ritz Carlton, Medalist etc... Hidden gem that is moving up the rankings quickly.
