best rivalry?

o.k. guys we all live in different parts of the country. so there rivalries will be based on some what where you guys live.  this could be anything. baseball, tennis, rappers, football, companies etc.

1. its either coke vs pepsi or bud light vs miller tied here. these two companies have been going at it for i dont know how long less filling or tastes greatt? the original coke ? who knows but i know this rivalry will NEVER end

2. i hate to say it but michigan vs ohio state is the biggest sports rivalry. now i know all about the other rivalries but this one game has meant so much in both illusterious history. i hate big 10 football but i really enjoy this game no matter which team is down.

3. GM or FORD is it just me or dont ever send a truck to do a sierra job or do they mean dont send a ford? and vice versa. long long time rivalry here with much hatred to get the market in the truck business.

 

i know its out of the norm but i am just curious what your thoughts on this are . 

 

other s who missed boston vs new york, texas vs oklahoma, boston vs los angeles,  dallas vs washington, green bay vs chicago, energizer vs duracell. i know there is a big time tennis rivalry but just cant think of it or hockey becasue i do not know the sport. im sure there is golf also.

I think Boston/LA has heated up in the past 2-3 years.

I have to take Boston/Yankees off though. There really hasn't been much interest to make it a "rivalry" of late. If this is an "all time" list...then yea...keep them on. But lately...no chance. The last meaningful thing that happened between them was Joba throwing over Youkilis' head twice in a row. And that was like 2007 or 2008.

Hockey has been Washington/Pittsburgh simply because of Ovechkin/Crosby. I don't follow hockey much but I know that one at least.

Soccer...I think it's Man U v Chelsea.

Duke v North Carolina is one for sure.

Patriots v Colts

Nadal v Federer? 2 of the best. And when they face off...it's must see whether you love tennis or can't stand it.

And, for what it's worth, I wish the Yankees/Red Sox rivalry would heat back up. I miss it. The Rays have hurt it with their emergence.

Get fucking real please. 100,000 college kids getting drunk and cheering for their school pales into comparison when compared with European and South American soccer. How many of the spectators are killed or maimed at a Michigan v Ohio State or Duke v NCarolina game each year?

Nothing in US sports comes anywhere close to the rivalries in European and South American soccer. These rivalries are based on religion, poltiics and persecution as opposed to merely colors.

Any time rival London clubs ( Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham etc ) play it is huge. Also local derbies such as Man Utd v Man City, Man Utd v Liverpool, Liverpool v Everton.

Not mention Glasgow Celtic v Glasgow Rangers in Scotland where it's the Catholics versus the Protestants. 

Italy you have the Milan derby ( AC v Inter ) and other inter-city derbies.

Argentina you have Boca Juniors and River Plate.

In soccer, you cannot have fans sitting on the same side of the stadium for fear of death and maiming. So it makes me laugh when people talk about the Yanks v Red Sox as a derby. That's just plain embarassing.

You could also include India and Pakistan in cricket.

US sports rivalries are fictitious and a joke.

Michigan and Ohio St is a bad rivalry right now, since Michigan is not holding up their end of the bargain.

My favorite rivalry is Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers, just two teams that really amp it up for that game and want to put each other in a hospital bed.

Jets/Ravens is starting to get up there too.

I think college football would be the closest thing you could consider a rivalry in the states, but other than that I agree.

i noted that it may differ from where u live in this country i stated. NOT IN THE WORLD. just this country. please i know that SOCCER has bigger rivalries in the world but i am only talking about this country. as i am not educated in what is going on in other parts of the world as rivalry is concerned.

on a smaller scale that most would not know, Jacksonville State University and Troy St (this was quite some time ago) but damn there was some hatred there
