set a limit for each of your player accordingly and you have to be firmed when the limit is reached.  It's a business and you're in it to make money, not giving money away or accepting IOU.  Also, word of advice, sometimes you have to be willing to part way with hot players or ones who know what they're doing and do not think you will try to hold on to them because eventually they'll lose it back to you.

I will say this, I have THOUGHT about it SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE & I have had the bankroll to support such. Outside of the bankroll, the FIRST THING you should do is MAKE SURE your clientele base IS ONLY College students (who don't know WTF they are doing). This will not only lead to eventual profits for you but also, decrease your exposure to REAL PEOPLE who may bring the kind of PROBLEMS that you CAN'T HANDLE. I will end by saying this. If I had my bankroll from 2-3 years ago ($300,000-400k), I would HAPPILY HAPPILY BE THE BOOKIE FOR EVERYBODY ON COVERS. I'VE BEEN HERE FOR 10 YEARS & SEEN 5 PRETTYGOOD CAPPERS, MAYBE. THE POSTERS HERE ARE SO TERRIBLE I DON'T LOOK AT THE OTHER THREADS I JUST ENJOY SHARING MY EXPERIENCES & CHATTING IN THE FORUMS...........

I worked for a man who ran a rather large {IMO] book for several years. It was an established business in operation for over 20 years. I could tell you many, many stories. The growing pains in establishing such  a business are many. Establishing good clients is a priority that will involve much pain + unpaid debts. He always told me that if you made 80 cents on the dollar you were doing well. As mentioned above, set limits + be firm with them. Do not take out of state calls. Be sure + have an 800 phone number. The bankroll needed to back a business such as this is probably more than you realize, but you will make money. Paying/collecting can be a lot more hazardous to your health than you might realize. Also, be sure + check the laws of your state and ask yourself if you would be willing to spend that time in jail, because it is entirely possible that you might do so at some time.
