The musicans could put all the ticket scalpers right out of business, if they made people who buy tickets at fan presales, have to pick the tickets up at the box office with ID.
Some groups now do this and it gives the regular folks a chance at getting good seats at regular prices, instead of being fleeced by the scalpers and brokers who call it supply and demand.
Hopefully at some point all entertainers will do this with the presales, then all the ticket scalpers will have to go out and work a real job

That will never work on a big scale. A father buying Bieber tickets on his credit card for his daughter and friends.. There will always be scalpers.
Lets say you buy a pair a tickets to a concert and 2 days before something comes up? you can't give the tickets away or sell them? you're out the money? It'll never work dude.

By the way, running a business selling tickets is a real business. I spend a good 30 hours a week on my business and all of my prices are cheaper than Stubhub.

I doubt that your tickets are cheaper. So post your website in promotions and i will check over your prices.
secondly dont say making people have to pick up tickets at will call doesnt work, because in fact it does work. A bunch of fan clubs now use that tactic to prevent ticket brokers from buying up all the presale fan club seats.

well i highly doubt any musician really cares if something comes up and you cant use their ticket.
I guess that person should have bought the ticket insurance they sell.

Selling above face value is illegal in alot of states. I would recommend that you investigate the laws of where you are at. However, you can get a license to be a ticket dealer. If its illegal in your area I would get the license and start a legit website.
The major events are where the money is at. Super Bowl-World Cup- World Series- All Star games- Final Four-etc. Some of these events have a lottery system that requires you to enter before a certain deadline. You will want to sign-up everyone you know in hopes of getting a shot at these tickets.
Also its best to throw some money to your friends for tickets they acquire for you. Better to have 10 people trying to get front row seats at Beyonce than just you.
Often times its best to get a season ticket package involving championship caliber teams. This gives you a better chance of getting playoff tickets in premieum places ... and thats where the big money is.
I could go on in more detail but thats enough...good luck

Don't see this too often.......but I agree with it.
Another option I feel is great is the rare ticket auction. I was able to get 5th row-center seats for Roger Waters DSOTM show in Seattle for $270 each. It sounds like a lot (& it is) but at least I, as a regular Joe, was able to get great seats w/o paying 10x face value. The scalpers did good biz as I saw tix in my row going for $1000-$1500 on stubby.........& none of those tix were left 3 days before the show.

Some cash to be made if you know what you're doing.............but it's tough because, even with the amex-type presales, the real seats were sold before you ever got a shot........save for ticket auctions which I think are great. Need an inside line to the best shows in town, not every show in town.
How is this fair Mugg?
I recently tried purchasing tix to a concert via an Amex presale.
Requirements were such that only 2 tix may be purchased 48 hours before they were made available to the "general public".
Just for the hell of it I went on eBay and saw that thousands of tickets were already on sale, some even 10x face value.
I know brokers get first dibs because they buy the whole lot for all events at the venue but still - what a f'n hose job.
